Check in was fast and easy.
Property was a little dated.
We had a room on the first floor, single queen, and it was so humid the carpet was damp. Had ac down to 66 with no relief. Told front desk about it and she said the was nothing they could do about it, “It’s like that this time of year.” Then said the whole hotel needed new windows. They put a damp-aid in the room to help with the humidity but it was beyond help. It was cooler in the hallways then in our room.
The rooms stunk - if you have any breathing problems don't stay there. It was musty and stunk like mold and mildew. They had two containers in there of Damp Rid and that still didn't get rid of the humidity. Please needs to be updated. Our tv didn't work - went to the front desk because no one would answer the phone when I called - went down there and she came to fix it and couldn't get it fixed and said you'll have to go without tv tonight because we are full and can't move you. We paid $170 for the room and can't even get a tv. In the morning I told the lade that we wanted some of our money back and she said the Manage has to approve that - she wasn't at the desk and said she'd have her call me - never heard a word from the manager. DON'T STAY THERE - RUDE STAFF AND THEY COULD CARE LESS!
The hotel is outdated and overpriced for Wednesday night in a small town. First hotel I’ve been to that didn’t allow closed top water bottles in the pool area.
I have stayed at a lot of chain hotels and this is the first time I've had to leave one. Walking in the hallways are dark and damp and when we entered the room it had a weird smell. Husband smelled urine, but we hoped it was the muggy/dampness bringing it that smell, and we tried to settle in. Left for dinner and came back- smell was still bad even with extra AC. I could smell cigarette smoke and my allergies kicked up until smoke was all I could smell. Started checking around- bathroom was very clean, but mattress covers and sheets were stained. Grateful Expedia was able to talk to the staff/ manager and get us a refund. We were outta there!
The floor of our room was dirty. There was a flossed and some used floss on the floor by the bed and bathroom area. I don’t think they cleaned the floor before we got the room. I wasn’t positive that the sheets were clean either. The hotel is just old and that would be fine if it was cleaned properly. Very disappointed and it affected our stay there in a negative way.
Clean room, friendly staff and good breakfast. Only issue was not being able to have a late check out which was an issue due to the purpose of visit was for a funeral. We had to bring our dog to the funeral and leave her in the car.
Staff was not at all friendly. Got scolded for having water in the pool area, not even in a glass container. Pool is only like 12x24 so very small. Later got scolded for walking too loudly in our room at 6:00 pm because people were trying to sleep. Beds are not at all comfortable. There are several other nicer places just across the street.
