I don’t know if the online pictures are only of their renovated rooms, but the room I had was old. Carpet was very dirty and stained and bathroom was very dated…had to figure out how the shower worked.

A bit run down but serviceable

We stopped by in the morning, after getting off the ferry, to drop our bags off before we toured Aberdeenshire for the day. When we returned to check in, at 9 pm, there seemed to be some trouble with the reservation and they had to do a lot of checking of the computer and of the room before we could get situated. It appeared as if they gave our reservation/room away because some other guest had an issue with the room they had. I imagine they moved that guest to the room we had reserved because we got a room with an extra single bed in it when we only reserved a double. There was only a tiny desk fan to cool off the room and the windows don’t open. It had been hot so the room was stifling. The bed sloped away from the center on both sides so we both had an uncomfortably warm night trying not to roll off the bed. I’ve certainly had worse but do be prepared for the rooms to be stuffy and warm if the weather has been warm.

Our stay

We initially got given a bedroom on the fourth floor and when we walked in, the heat hit our face even thought the windows were open and fan was on, it was easily 35 °C. There was no way we could’ve slept in the room. We eventually got a change of room but was initially told there was only the fourth floor which wasn’t true. We would’ve had to drive home the 3 hours home if we couldn’t have changed. The man on the desk with the glasses was a great help. Bed was super comfy and room lovely, although the windows were painted shut that was the only downside. What I did find odd was we got a voicemail at 9pm to confirm if we were still staying, I don’t know if that’s standard but never had that with a hotel before, it says on the confirmation check in is till 12pm. When I called back a lady answered and when I said I’d had a missed a call she said it was probably about arrival and asked cheekily “so are you coming or not?”. I confirmed we were and 2 minutes away, I asked about parking & was told it was available but It actually wasn’t. Over all the stay was fine, the 2nd room was really nice.

The room was okay but, it gets very hot in the hotel. When we went to dinner, it took an hour and half for a steak and chicken meal, people who arrived 40-60 minutes after us got their meals before us. It’s a convenient hotel as it’s right across from union square but, may not be a bad idea to seek elsewhere.

Lovely big room.

Had a lovely big room on 4th floor. Bed very comfortable . Room only so didn't eat or drink in hotel. Reception area looked very nice and modern. Very central for transport, shopping and restaurants.

Great hotel great location great breakfast - our shower in the room had bad drainage water was too slow for the speed of the shower 312 room number flooded all the floor. Only stayed one night but would have been a problem if I stayed longer

A Truly Great Stay at The Station Hotel, Aberdeen! The Station Hotel truly stands out as perhaps the best hotel I've experienced in Aberdeen, and I honestly can't see myself staying anywhere else in the future. While many other establishments in the area seem a bit run down, The Station Hotel is a refreshing exception. It's incredibly clean and immediately feels welcoming the moment you step inside. My recent stay was fantastic! The bar was excellent, offering a great atmosphere, and the food was delicious. (Though I did have a chuckle when asked if I needed a knife and fork for my prawn salad and chips – no disrespect to those learning, of course!) My only minor tip for future guests would be to aim for rooms on floors 1-4. I was in a charming roof room, but the seagulls decided to host a lively dance party on the roof all night! However, this was a small blip in an otherwise superb experience. Considering some of the other places just around the corner, The Station Hotel is in a league of its own. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Aberdeen!

Very basic double room, bed was comfortable and clean. Very noisy as looking out over the main road so didn't sleep well. The bathroom was dingy and smelt fusty could do with a make over. The bar closed at 10pm and staff quite rude.
