A poor first impression of Aberdeen

The hotel is conveniently close to the train station in Aberdeen city centre, with a car park at the back. I had trouble knowing which car park to park in as it was dark when i arrived, there is no lighting and signage non existent. Car parking bays are not marked out and as the car park is a strange shape it was difficult to determine how to park. Unbeknown to me there is a £10 per night additional charge to park, this in my opinion for the condition of the car park is unacceptable. I believe they have another car park and the one I parked in is an overflow car park. However this first car park which does have marked bays and lighting was full. It is a small car park and very tight to maneuver as i discovered when i ventured to see if there was a space. The hotel foyer and reception area is welcoming, staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant area looked pleasant. The room we had was very tired looking with a large window that at first I thought was open because the draught and noise was so bad. The windows are clearly very old and inefficient. The hotel did provide earplugs in the room, but if like me you can't use them, this is not the hotel for you. The shower in our room was cold unless you turned the water flow right up. Breakfast at a weekend isn't served until 7.30am but as we needed to leave at 7am we had to leave on empty stomachs. I would not recommend this hotel unless youre happy with cheap and cheerful and are can sleep in noisy environments.

My nights sleep was so comfortable I feel compelled to ask the hotel the make of their pillows, mattress and duvet. The staff were top notch from management, to reception to kitchen. Every query and request was met with satisfaction. Will definitely be booking my next Aberdeen trip with The Station.

Beautiful old hotel located in the city center. Beautiful old staircase. Hotel rooms were very large and beautifully decorated. Easy walking distance to amenities.

Booked a superior room, nothing superior about it. Hole in the wall, marks on the walls, paint missing, dirty carpet. Window in the room rattled with the wind and woke us up numerous times during the night. The glass was actually coming off the frame, we could pass a sheet of paper through it. Informed reception in the morning, nothing done about , reminded them at 4 pm the same day, still nothing done about it. Asked for fresh towels,tea and coffee for room and didnt get them. Had to go ask again. The towels we got had holes and black stains on them. Got no apology from the hotel. The hotel is in a good location. Bar and restaurant area looked clean

Hotel is right across the street from the train station. Also across the sreet next to train station, there is an indoor mall with lots of restaurants & stores. The hotel itself has a good restaurant. A short walk takes you to a main street with lots of stores, pubs and restaurantsas well as easy access to bus transportation. The beds are comfortable & rooms are kept spotless.

Amazing hotel

We got a cheap upgrade when we arrived so jumped at the chance. We couldn't have asked for a better room. Such a comfy bed & pillows were amazing. Best sleep we have had for a while. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Wouldn't definitely recommend to anyone to stay at the station hotel!

Staff were very helpful. Heating was off in all rooms apparently but we were given electric heaters with no problem. Family room had minor imperfections eg a light hanging out of socket slightly in bathroom ceiling, a fickle wall socket, the decor and carpet looked quite old but it waa still all very clean. Powerful shower. We had breakfast one of the days and it was very good. Reception gave us extra coffee etc when asked. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Good Value Good Location

Great location, right next to the station and shoos, bars etc. Service was good. Food choice was also good, not too pricey and even got 20% discount. Hoyel is a bit tired looking, nothing to bad though. Rooms are basic, beds are comfy. Only 2 minor niggles, 1. There is next to no cold water in the shower (in the room I was in) which meant scalding hot shower. 2. Room service bsd the bed, emptied the bins but for some reason left the coffee cup that I used (which was empty) half full of dirty tea coloured water. Which makes me think "how do they actually clean the cups? Just rinse them out?
