Well worn property, five star view.
The balcony was unsafe, we were warned of this and the price was lower because it was a really dead weekend in Ocean Shores. They said that the sliding glass door would only open 4" to prevent anyone from going out onto the balcony because of the rotting wood, but the door opened all the way so we just had to behave ourselves and not go out there and risk our lives. The desk guy was great, the room was nice. The bedding was clean but the blanket consisted of a lumpy duvet with a duvet cover put on top of it as if it was a bedspread but it wasn't. A simple blanket would have been much better. The pillows were a random assortment with random pillowcases that were all white but some were a weird polyester stuff not cotton. The ocean view was lovely from the room we had. There was a nice kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom with two queen beds. Would stay again and hoping that the property gets some repair and upkeep soon.

Our go to beach hotel
This is our gonto ocean shores spot. Like most of the town it is older and shows it, but the 1 bedroom suites are massive and we love having a full kitchen! The staff is always so friendly and accomodating. The whole family loves the indoor heated pool and hot tub. It's also nice to have a pool table and little arcade to gonhang out at in the evenings. Also, their pool has adult hours from 10pm- midnight. Right now the balconies are all closed due to age, but we were told construction starts beginning of year to replace them.

The staff are AMAZING! So helpful and kind. Unfortunately, the elevator was broken so getting our luggage up and down was not the easiest. We had our dogs and were not informed until we got there that we could not leave them to grab dinner unless it was at the hotel’s restaurant which they closed early without any previous warning. The building is dated but had some great amenities.

Like most of the hotels in Ocean Shores, it is older and looks a bit run down. Our room was on the bottom floor outside. The room wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. It had new paint, mostly new furniture, and was clean. It was incredibly reasonably priced for what it was and I have had much less successful reservations at other hotels for the same price. The man at the front desk wasn't the most friendly but he also wasn't that bad either. When I mentioned that we would rather have a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean, he simply said that the "type of room" I reserved did not have any on the upper floors. I'm not sure what that meant considering there was nothing special in my reservation other than two beds. I didn't feel comfortable enough to ask for clarification. We were also informed that the hot tub was broken when we were checking in which was very disappointing. The best thing is the indoor swimming pool and game room. I have stayed at at least 5 hotels in Ocean Shores and this is definitely the best pool. The pool is 5 ft deep in the center so you can actually enjoy swimming. From 10:00 to midnight it is adults only! They also provide multiple pool toys. There is also a game room upstairs that has a pool table and video games. Another huge bummer is NO free breakfast. However, if you do have the money to eat at the Rusty Pelican, It is reasonably priced and has delicious breakfast.
