Non-working property during Covid-19 times
Actually we were not let, the manager said that the property was closed due to COVID-19 situation. We were not informed about this in advance and had to find alternative accommodation. On the positive side, the property is 500 meters away from Abu Simbel temples.

One Night Stay
The hotel is just OK. Since I was just about the only person there they wanted me to decide what time I wanted to eat each meal which was annoying. The room itself was just barely OK. The shower curtain was a sheer window curtain that did not contain the water. The room was NOT secure at all. There was not a security safe in the room either. For a single female, it was not comfortable for that reason. WiFi was less than dismal. The hotel is within walking distance to the temples which was a great bonus.

The room is old and not well maintained. Surrounding area full of insects. Swimming pool extremely dirty until cant swim at all! Toilet cleanliness is acceptable. Staff are helpful, they allow me to change room because air-conditioner is not working in my initial room. Dinner is quite ok. Breakfast so so.

Best location
Just a short walk to the Abu Simbel Temple. This is the best location. The other hotels are quite a bit further away along a busy road. The room we had was very dated (old furniture, cathode ray tube TV), but clean and comfortable enough for a couple of nights. The swimming pool is very nice and has a great view of the over Lake Nasser. A beautiful place to relax. The restaurant focuses on quantity over quality. The food is really nothing special and there's lots of it. As there aren't other restaurants around, you'll eat here. It's expensive for what you get, but that's because it's in Abu Simbel.

This hotel is stunning! Take the free bus from the airport to Abu Simbel. ( I believe the bus was called Happy...I think.) Once you get to Abu Simbel, it's a quick 5-10 minute walk to the hotel. Walking straight to the hotel once you get to Abu Simbel helps to avoid the crowds when you go there afterwards. The views from this hotel are amazing! There is a pool area looking over the lake. With it's white villas, blue doors, juxtaposed to the water, I felt like I was in Greece! The water is this really pretty blue/green color and beyond that is nothing but desert. The room was really nice and had everything that you would need. There is also a restaurant on sight....but you can easily walk into the town and go to a local restaurant as well. At night, make sure you head over to Abu Simbel for the light show. That was the highlight of our stay. If you enjoy stargazing, this hotel is the perfect place to do it.

Tranquil and spacious hotel in an amazing setting
Upon arrival we were kindly upgraded to a suite which was impressively spacious, private and had fantastic views over lake Nasser. Highly recommend an overnight stay here when visiting Abu Simbel. Only 5 minute walk to temples.

Good welcoming staff and friendly service made my stay here a delight, nice pool, good restaurant and fun 70's style all original. Some facilities are a bit dated, but rooms are clean and the pool is good.

Walking distance to Abu Simbel
I came here to visit the temples at Abu Simbel. Most people just make a day trip to Abu Simbel, but I actually stayed for 5 days. Besides visiting the temples, I also went on a desert safari. (The guide's name is Hani, and you can find him at Abu Simbel Safari). He also took me on a motorboat cruise of the lake. So if you have the time, there are some things to do here. You have to scale back your expectation though, because this is a remote location and there isn't the same variety of goods and services as in Aswan.

Nefertari Hotel is the best place to stay!
The hotel is very very closed to the Temples, Just 5-minute walk. The room is clean but need some improvement because some furnitures is quite old, but that's fine for us. The environment and view around the hotel are very great. All staff are very helpful and friendly. Something to concern if you'd like to stay here is there is no supermarket nearby, so you should bring some water or snack with you. (The supermarket is at the city centre that take around 20 minutes walk from the hotel or you can take a taxi) The hotel has restaurant and you can have dinner at the hotel.

People of the hotel are very nice. Choice of food is good but must be selected in advance. The food is good. Only body soap are supplied in the room, no shampoo, no conditioner. The soaps are not sealed, probably used by somebody else before. TV channels very limited (5 or 6) and most of them in arabic only.

Basic & Comfortable
With few visitors staying in the very small town of Abu Simbel, the staff at this sprawling hotel are to be commended for resolutely maintaining its services. The complex, offering a quiet stay, lies on an excellent site by the side of Lake Nasser, a 5 minute walk to the adjacent Temples, a 10 minute stroll into town and a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport. Undoubtedly a class hotel at one time, its lack of visitors has resulted in a decline of its infrastructure (no fault of their own) and the offerings are fairly basic compared to other hotels of a similar nature. Ignore the 4* classification: it is, very much, a local hotel and not at international standards so should be positively viewed in this light. Staff are helpful and one gets the impression that they want to work but with little to do: just four people were staying overnight for bed and breakfast so that we could visit the Temples at sunrise. Provided that guests are flexible, relaxed, independently-minded and undemanding, the staff do all they can to help. Clearly, staff would benefit from customer service training although that may not be economically efficient with the hotel’s current occupancy levels. Charges are, in comparison with other hotels of a similar standard, high and potential guests will be contented if they do not expect too much for their money: internet is USD5 per 24 hours for a weak signal.
