The room was very old. Had a dampness smell The bathroom had mould. The hand basin was discussing. Yet when we saw the photos of the room on Expedia it looked nice. 😠 They don’t have room service unless you ask for it at 7am for the room to be cleaned the next day. We missed out having our room cleaned for 5 days because the reception didn’t open till 9 am. And we use to leave early. So inconvenient. 😏

The hotel is very old and dirty. Bad smell everywhere in the room. Stayed for 2 nights but no room services such as cleaning and changing towels. This hotel needs an urgent renovation. We don't recommend to everyone to stay here. The bad smell that we had to endure during our stay is dangerous to our health. We would not want everyone to go through.

The room was cheap but the imagery given when booking was very misleading. The amenities were in very poor condition from the broken air-conditioner, to the dust buildup and damaged basin/cabinetry/bedhead. The sheets and pillows were fresh and clean but the towels provided were stained. Staff however were super-nice but the place needs a deep-clean and a thorough renovation.

A missing light switch
2 night stay for doctor's appointment. I had stayed here before and liked the Hindley St. location. I had a problem with the main roof light in my room. I could not find the switch to put it off at bedtime. Had the option of all power on which gave me aircon.(which I needed) and light or darkness and no aircon. I chose the latter. Next morning I asked the front desk where the switch was and was told it was BEHIND the plastic tab you insert to get power on. Next time I'll know. Other than that no problems and a good stay

Perfect venue if you are just after a bed and a shower in Adelaide central. Local businesses are a bit noisy but given the location you have to expect that. Close access to Adelaide Oval, Rundle Mall and the casino amongst other things meant that this hotel was ideal for what I needed.

We had booked 2 nights and only stayed one. Arrived late at night and being in an alleyway on Hindley street there were intoxicated people congregated around the reception entry. The room was very warm with no ability to let any breeze in, the air-conditioning unit was old and not working, half eaten lollies found in the bedside drawer, one of the beds smelt strongly of something very unpleasant despite clean looking sheets. The small milks in the fridge for tea and coffee were curdled and there was a broken wall light with exposed live wires hanging from the wall. The room and paintwork of the room was generally rough looking with badly patched areas etc and the bathroom was grotty. We left by 930am the next morning, requesting a refund for the 2nd nights accommodation. The staff member told us this was not something he could authorise (fair enough) and it was the managers day off and they would be in touch. Yet to hear from anyone. I'm not normally one to complain and have never left pre-booked accommodation early but this was not good enough. 3 stars should still look and smell clean, be safe and have a functioning air conditioner if advertised to have so.

Cheap but not nasty
All the basic needs were there. Comfy bed with decent pillows, no shortage of hot water. Room had high ceilings so did not need to use air con. Location excellent for fast food, restaurants, trains and public transport, shopping and sightseeing.

Most money I've ever spent on a hotel room, and it was the worst room I've ever stayed in. The car park is limited and we had to find out the hard way that our car was too big to fit in the parking complex. The room stank when we first entered. The carpet was sticky on barefeet, our window was blocked out and when opened let out to air-conditioner ducts that made noise all night. Shower curtain had red dirty splashes on it. The staff were friendly but definitely would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone else.
