This was by far the nicest room/resort we have stayed in. After being cramped in many Japanese hotels and ryokans, this was much much larger with three queen/full size beds, a 65" TV and an outdoor bath (mineral salts available in the lobby). However, please understand that as this location is very remote, dining options in the area and transportation may be limited. This may be why we didn't see any foreigners there? However, they do provide pick-up service to and from the Shin-Iwakuni station depending on the room you're staying in given you contact them at least three days in advance. Although our Shinkansen was unexpectedly delayed by two hours due to rain/lightning, they patiently waited for our arrival and did not leave us stranded. Perhaps the only downside was that we only stayed two nights as I felt we could've done with some more downtime and taking advantage of the amenities including the bikes and SUPs. I hope to return again soon, staying for a longer time next time. Thank you Marissa Resort for giving us an incredible and memorable vacation!

Smart hotel, good service, well placed for sightseeing.

Clean and spacious room for a solo traveller. About a 20 min walk to the peace museum, close to the Hiroshima station. Laundry facilities available. Good variety of free amenities available for guests. Luggage storage for pre/post stay

Wonderful stay

Love the onsen, the boys love the free ice cream and hot chocolates. It is the best location

Great location close to transpiration and writhing walking distance of the Peace Memorial Park and the massive Hondori Shopping Street. Room was as expected for Japan, on the small size but bed was comfortable and our room was slightly larger than most of the double rooms so we could have our suitcase open. Bathroom was a bit tight and there were not as many toiletries provided as other hotels. Beware that the tub bottom is slippery and the side is very tall so it takes some agility to climb in and out for a shower. Daily cleaning was nice and we enjoyed extra pillows and towels upon demand. Breakfast is very Japanese with a lot of variety but may not meet western definition of ‘breakfast’
