The room was spacious. There was hot water, AC, and on site roadside free parking. WIFI only worked in lobby. Community balcolny was nice to relax at and there was a large table to sit down.
This hotel it the most terrible one that we have ever experienced.
The room shares several windows with the next room, and we cannot completely turn down the light because of the brightness of the next room.
We could not sleep until midnight.
They do not have any parking area and we should use street to park the car. Also, outside is so noisy.
The bathroom was broken and they did not repair. Also, we could not use other bathrooms because others were also broken.
So we checked out beforehand, although we have already paid for all stay.
We strongly and repeatedly argued for a refund, but they denied.
We asked Expedia for help, and they also did not help at all.
Expedia argued that they do not have any responsibility for the introduction of such a terrible hotel.
We stayed in a room off to the side of the check in area. No windows, and totally dark! It was heaven after always being waken at 4 am by the birds, then the sun, and traffic. The room was nice and quite to sleep in. We were offered another room but we declined because it was so quite there. The room also had strong wifi as I don’t think other areas may have. The hotel I think owns the grocery store too, well stocked and nice and clean. Great job hotel Akumal
10 minute walk from the beach. Good hotel for the price compared to the popular more touristy hotels on the beach. Local area is a bit rough. I was about leaving our rental car parked on the street but we parked it right outside the hotel and it was completely fine. The room was lovely and big and has a nice balcony/terrace area.
It met all of our needs, and was beautiful inside. Gentle, helpful staff were patient with our poor Spanish.

Liked: Cleanliness
The credit card machine did not work (it was an ordeal to check in). The front desk gentleman spoke no english. There as little water pressure and no hot water. The air con remote did not work. Very noisy street in the morning. Advertised as a B&B, no breakfast. Expensive at $70. Not a good value.
Very nicely decorated and modern rooms in a little hotel with friendly staff.
There is no other service than a front desk person, and you have to park in the street.
The hotel is located in what I will call downtown Akumal, which is not the touristic area, and even if you can easily walk to the beach (15 min), it looked like we were the only tourists here, surrounded by locals and in the end, all worked well... people are friendly and even if I was concerned leaving the car in the street for the night, everything went fine and we enjoyed our stay in Akumal. It's very worth it if you want to swim with sea turtles and get a quite fair price for the accommodation ( still I found it expensive compare to other places during our road trip).
This is a very simple, clean and newly updated hotel in Akumal town, inland from Akumal beach, but not easy to get to without a car. So a good place for a night sleep but nothing else.
This was a great choice and a great hotel in a delightful town. Ten minute walk to snorkel with Las Tortugas off the beach. You should be aware however that the location map on Hotels.com is not correct. It shows the hotel on the beach side of the highway. It is actually across the highway in the pueblo though this is not a problem as the beach is an easy ten minute walk away.
We had a very hard time finding the place to begin with and the phone number was wrong on the Expedia website. So I contacted customer support and it took them 20 minutes to locate the correct phone number and get them to answer. We locate the place and nobody was at the front desk for another 10 minutes and the location was in a sketchy neighborhood. So I get into my room which was very clean but had no tv and no windows, not for claustrophobic people, I walk to the closet place to eat and when walking back actually saw a guy walking around with a machete close to the hotel. This place isn't a hotel as more of a B and B
With no breakfast not worth the money
