There are few excellent mom and pop motels these days, but this is one of them. The owners have been giving this place TLC for over 45 years. It’s exceptionally clean, the bed was new and very comfortable, and being able to park outside my door is something I really like. If you like a quality experience with a nostalgic feel, this is the place! BTW, the nearby food options are walkable and varied as fast food and fine dining.

A place to avoid

The place was almost empty- only 3 or 4 people staying in the motel. I can see why. Very run down. Absolutely horrible king sized bed that should have been retired many years ago. Room was boiling hot since the wall AC unit had not been running. It took nearly 4 hours for the room to cool down to a tolerable extent. Room fridge was just slightly cool

The staff member at check-in was kind and efficient. The building was older but well kept up and clean. Basic breakfast (cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, etc.) was good. Plus, they had sleds and wax that we could borrow for our trip to White Sands National Park.

Wonderful, Reimagined Motel

This is a great motel that reminded me of days gone by. Pulling right up to the door of your room is so out of date today, but here that's exactly what you do. From the check-in procedure of writing down all your information, to the actual key (a real key) to your door, this motel transports you back to a different era. Yes, there are flat screen TV's, and WiFi passwords. But there are also no plugs in the bathrooms, but awesome vintage style bathtub/shower tiles. No USB ports for easy charging, but lamps with plugs in their bases. No fans in the bathrooms, but actual working windows to slide open to let out steam. In short, stay here. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. And a trip to the past doesn't have to be a bad thing.
