I checked into the hotel late at night. Noticed that the window to the room was broken and the toilet was making a running noise. When using the bathroom it kept overflowing. We tried calling the front desk but the phones were disconnected. We went to the front desk to let them know if they could have someone come to our room to fix the toilet. The front desk manager brought a woman from house keeping and they said they will not be able to fix it. We asked if we could be switched to another room again the said they couldn’t. We asked what we were supposed to do since we paid for a room that had a working toilet. The manager pointed down the hallway and said we could use the public restroom. At that point we felt outraged to their lack of assistance. We called customer support but they were unable to reach the hotel so the matter was dropped and we left the property and checked into another hotel.

We booked a 2 night stay. When my husband and I checked in, the room they assigned was as far from the elevators as possible. We are both in our late 70s, so this was unacceptable. Plus the room was small and cramped, not up to Comfort Inn standard. Went to the front desk to complain, was told that there were no more rooms available. I said that was fine that we would go to the Ramada or Holiday Inn (both in the area). We were offered a better room (suite) for an additional $20 a day. The next day, we went to the appointment that was the reason for our visit to the area. When we returned, the key to our room had been deactivated. Went to the front desk again to complain. Had the keys redone. I was told it happens. There was never an offer of any kind of compensation or, even and apology. We have always loved the Comfort Inn, but not sure we will ever stay in one again!

We stayed in the hotel to be close to the great sand dunes (it showed up in a search for that area). It was 45 minutes away! Plus, the hotel A/C was broken.

I booked a suite that was advertised as having a bathtub. The suite I got was just a king room with a sofa. I didn't want a suite king for the sofa I wanted it for the bathtub. Their hot tub is also not working so not only I couldn't take a bath I couldn't also use the hot tub.

The room I was assigned had a dozen or more gnats and a very unpleasant set of odors. One that smelled like moldy towels and the other a very strong fragrant perhaps trying to mask that. I could never determine where either was coming from. At check-in the attendant was extremely unpleasant and really seemed to hate her job. I had selected this motel because it had a hot tub and pool. Pool water seemed to have a green tinge and the hot tub was not working at all. Apparently some parts had failed since I had made it my reservation. The outdoor trash cans which were very large had not been emptied and were overflowing. On the upside the rooms were generally clean and the breakfast was better than I was expecting with eggs bacon green chili, fresh fruit and other more carb heavy choices.
