The check-in was great, room was clean. Location was great in terms of having plenty of shopping, restaurants and safety within the property. The surrounding area is a bit run down all businesses have bars on windows and there are transients walking about, however that is to be expected for a downtown urban area.

Sandia Peak was a pleasant surprise. Clean hard floors. No old carpet. Top of the line bed, sooo comfortable. Mike and Aria(?) were helpful hosts and suggested a great place to eat. Highly recommended.

Room had a relatively fresh floor. The room wasn't super clean, but smelled like bleach when I got there and for the first few hours as I aired it out. Shower was poorly designed from a water flow perspective. AC worked well, but was quite loud as it kicked on(which it cycled on and off a lot).

The 1st room assigned was dirty, so we had to move rooms. The comforter was stained. There was next to nothing for breakfast. No hot food. As far as breakfasts, it was poor, so we ended up going out somewhere. The nostalgia of staying at an original Route 66 motel was cool. Being on a 10 day trip, it was probably the least favorite place we stayed in the $100 range. But the bed was one of the most comfortable. I guess you win some and lose some.
