Quirky in a good way that stands apart from the crowd. Exceptional dining room staff, and receptionist. Don’t be put off by the faux medieval theme, just accept it in good fun and enjoy the experience.

Something a bit different

I have stayed here a couple of times. Very comfortable, food really nice and very friendly staff. Not your ordinary motel - it has lots of appeal if you are looking for something a bit different. Location great with an amazing farmers market straight opposite.

We had Room 108 at the back overlooking a small car park and trees. The main road was audible with the window open (restricted). This was quirky room but then it is a crazy hotel with a fake "tudor" theme and dark wood furniture and two suits of Armour no less ! I thought it was quite fun. Our room continued the theme with black furnishings and the biggest polished headboard I have ever seen along with matching drawer unit and included gold curtains and even more gold trim net curtains (in need of a good wash) and a gold paint decorated corner plasterwork on the ceiling (pity the embellishment wasn't continued around the frieze! This room was not for the faint-hearted! The rather heavy black throw contained a duvet and it all looked like it could do with a good wash as I can't imagine the throw being changed for every guest. The room and bathroom were adequate. We ate dinner downstairs and had the Salmon which was delicious but topped up with extra chips and salad. This hotel is a pseudo half-timbered property with a dark interior. However, I thought it worked and if they had some inglenook fireplaces I guess it could be quite cosy on a wet winter's day.

Breakfast - don't be fooled by the title Continental breakfast! Dry banana bread, dry muffins and a small glass full of fruit and granola or similar with so little natural yoghurt it wouldn't blend together is not my idea of continental breakfast! Dinner on the other hand was really good

Convenient and comfortable

We regularly stay at this establishment on our way to and from Melbourne. It is conveniently located just of the Hume Highway and has several options for food nearby. However, the restaurant offers a range of excellent meals.
