Beautiful Old skool service

What a beautiful place to stay, old school service, fabulous gardens. Huge gorgeous room, lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in. Some feedback not a complaint - spa needs a jacuzzi esp outside to take in the views and changing rooms need to be regularly cleaned of excess water

Room was lovely and big. Bathroom also amazing. Gardens beautiful and the chapel/church eerie but steeped in history. Evening meal was a let down but was sorted out by the lovely Chris. Breakfast very satisfying, plenty of everything to satisfy all pallets. Overall an amazing 1 night stay.

Gorgeous hotel!

Beautiful building with a fascinating history. As an older guest I found the rabbit warren of corridors and endless staircases stressful. We were actually given a room at the very end of a corridor on the third floor( there is no lift). Happily the hotel changed that for us and so we enjoyed our stay. My advice is if you have any mobility problems you should let the hotel know on booking a room!! It’s a lovely hotel in a lovely setting and the staff are excellent. Our dinner was very enjoyable and all things considered, I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. It’s really close to Stratford with all its delights.

We arrived at the hotel and from the outside it was lovely but once walking around the grounds was very disappointed, broken tables and poorly kept grounds. The hotel corridors were dirty and very dated. The room was an ok size, bathroom had recently been renovated which was nice but the bathrobes were extremely worn and in need of being replaced. The view from our room was non existent as it looked out onto an extremely noisy air con system which made sleeping very difficult. The restaurant was nice, some music for atmosphere would make it a lot better. The food was great but the service was at times lax with having to ask for cutlery and napkins several times then again a long wait and asking a second time for the wine which we had reordered. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Overall I would have been a lot happier having paid half the price of what we did. It needs a lot of work in places to make this hotel the grandeur it should have. I left feeling a little disappointed overall.

Beautiful historic hotel.

Lovely historical hotel, friendly staff who could never do too much, lovely spa. Wedding event meant it was quite busy when we arrived. Check in would have been quicker if the bloke in front of us wasn’t after every discount or upgrade he wasn’t entitled to. The weather was even great making it lovely to sit in the grounds in the evening. Gardens were sculpted to within an inch of their lives.

As I arrived the sun was shining, guests were enjoying afternoon tea in the garden with the fountain behind them. The view was tranquil and inviting. The hotel is very attractive on the outside with well kept gardens and grounds. Given the heatwave we have had this year they have clearly done a lot of work to keep the flower borders interesting. The reception staff were welcoming and efficient. The room was in one of the barns and very clean. The soap dispenser by the shower had either blocked or run out which was disappointing. The buffet breakfast was well presented, just surprising that there was only tinned fruit available - where were the local summer fruits? I was visiting a friend nearby so did not eat at the hotel but the menu looked inviting. I would certainly be happy to stay again in the future.

Billesley weekend

Room 45 was bad. Blind didn’t work. Standard lamp also not working. No subtitles on tv for hearing deficient people. Poor. Moved to another room. Much better. Plates and bowls at breakfast were dirty. Not jus one or two but several.

Quiet rooms , lovely grounds. It is a large hotel with lots of stairs and long corridors so be careful what room you are booked into if you have mobility issues
