It was black out was frustrating. Both The managers were great. The problem was not easy to solve but unusual experience sleeping in dark and waking all floor using a stair very bad.

No power/No contingency

There was a power outage leaving the hotel without electricity. The hotel had NO contingency plan. They couldn’t book us into another hotel, they couldn’t give us an estimate on when the power would come back on. The best they did was refund our money without fees…. Something that wasn’t helping at 8pm when you’re exhausted and just want to go to bed. We had to scramble to book another hotel at several hundred dollars more for the weekend! I feel this is absolutely ridiculous!!! In this day and age, a Mairott Hotel isn’t prepared with generators for such an emergency? I will say, though, the staff were very nice. They were very apologetic in spite of many frustrated guests.

Although my experience started out with a fall, I have high praise for the staff of this hotel. It is apparent that the front office manager (Edna) runs a tight ship along with the office supervisor (Junior). Tyeshia, the front desk person is above reproach with her customer care. Both she and Junior were extremely attentive to my party's and other guest's requests. Staff treated us as though we were in a 5-star hotel. I plan to stay here at our next visit to D.C. The hotel is clean and conveniently located across the street from an Aldi store and CVS. A hotel shuttle is dependable and available for transport to and from the DCA (airport) and some metro stations. A bistro-style restaurant with good food items is located within the hotel. All in all, this was a fabulous experience.
