A fantastic, beautiful and almost idyllic resort just outside of Lagos. The resort is very peaceful, and if you are a golfer, has meticulously maintained courses - I wish I had a chance to play a round! Incredible views from our balcony, the restaurant, and the pool of the beach coastline, and of Lagos and Ponte de Piedade in the distance. The staff were extremely helpful, kind and, eager to please. So glad we chose this resort as it is not directly in Lagos and world away from the bustle and commotion that makes Lagos incredibly fun, but tiring. Highly recommend the Palmares Beach House Hotel!

This place was super clean and central to the busy streets of Lagos, it is actually on one of the main streets with a restaurant underneath (this can get loud at all times of the day and night). Everything was spotless, very great staff, has AC. This might be a one off experience but when we got our room, we were provided a small reusable tube of shower gel in the shower that was white, watery and foamy.. it felt strange at first because we needed almost half the tube for one person to shower with. On the next day, we had asked for a refill and was informed that they don’t usually refill the shower/shampoo, but had refilled it half way for us on this occasion. Upon receiving the refill, the gel was not white, it was yellow, thick, and translucent; this was what shower gel should’ve looked like to start with and we only had to use 1/8 of the bottle for a shower. So I’m not sure what was provided on the first day, maybe the previous visitor had filled it up with something else?

We had a good stay at Palmares overall. The property itself is gorgeous and our Signature Apartment was a huge highlight — spacious, spotless, well designed and really comfortable. We had a two bedroom and the second bedroom was actually separate from the main apartment, which was great for privacy. The staff was also incredibly kind and helpful. The location is great, It’s only about 10 minutes from Lagos town, but feels peaceful and exclusive compared to the madness of Old Town, and being so close to Meia Praia was a huge plus. Where it fell short was the 5 star experience. There were a lot of unfinished details that added up. Breakfast was honestly pretty bad — cold food, very little variety and coffee from an automatic machine. For a 5 star resort in Europe, I’d expect much better. There was also A LOT of construction, no gym, and huge cranes obstructing the beach views. They kindly offer golf cart rides toward the beach, but you’re dropped off on a dirt road and still have to walk down to the beach. Overall, good but not great. It definitely didn’t feel 5 star yet, but it seems like they’re still getting everything up and running. The property has so much potential, so hopefully once construction is done and they iron out the details, it’ll be amazing.
