Staff and locals friendly. Hotel Bruny is pretty much the only place open on the island for dinner, so it helps their menu is decent. Motel room is a breath away from the pub, but still quiet. Well appointed, modern, and clean. Good base to have your adventures from.
Highly recommend the Pods at the Bruny Island Hotel. Comfortable and clean and being able to eat at the Hotel is a bonus as there are very few choices to dine out in the evening. ( actually none!)
The hotel food was great with a menus which caters for all tastes. It’s not glamorous but quite fine and the staff were very friendly.
If you don’t want to abnb and cater for yourself then this is a great alternative for a few days on the island.
The Hotel dining room, bar and bottleshop were excellent especially staff and service. The accommodation was a different matter although the room was clean the bathroom was very dated small bathroom basin, floor of shower was damaged, no fan in bathroom for ventilation, only one stand for luggage instead of two one for each person and only a floor fan for cooling. We were asked to clean kitchen utensils in what a small basin in bathroom. Hoped they were replaced and cleaned between guests. No teaspoons only large spoon. Also very little shelving in bathroom.
What a wonderful find for us. Spent 2 nights at the Lodge and dinner at restaurant there. Our room had fantastic views of water and special treat seeing wallabies grazing in our yard. Also saw yellow parrots in trees out front.
Restaurant offered many great options and all meals there were delicious.
