Amanohashidate Vacation Packages

I booked this hotel some months ago and I started reading reviews prior to check in. I'll admit I got a bit nervous. That being said we decided to stay the night and try it out. First impressions were that there was more space than many rooms we've stayed in while in Japan. Many features look newish and it has a full kitchen. Then things get weird. The wall paper is peeling off. There's a persistent bad smell. There's roach traps everywhere. I tried to shower and the shower nozzle fell off. My husband tried to leave to do a Lawson run and the latch on the lock fell off. The beds were surprisingly comfortable but it's also loud in the morning with people talking in the alleyway. It was fine for the night but I wouldn't stay here again.

The location is perfect for those who will go to places by trains or buses because it is right across the Kyoto train station. We love that they open the breakfast area for guests to help themselves with water, tea, etc. you could even get convenient store food/snack and eat there. We enjoyed our stay there.

Location was only a few minutes away from the station and quiet. Clean and spacious room. Decor was elegant although it was a little too dim otherwise the room was very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.

Amazing location and breakfast

This hotel feels like a youth hostel with its lack of personnel or lobby / space to hang out, but our room had enough space for a family of four, which even included two toilets, a table and sofa, although only two dining chairs. Advertised as "eco-friendly" for its lack of routine cleaning was a bit odd, as we had to take out our own rubbish, but overall, it was fine for our needs, which was to explore Kyoto. We liked the walking distance to local cafes, a grocery store, and to Nijo-jo Castle.

Occasionally could smell cigarette smoke possible from neighbors. It was comfortable and gave a somewhat classic feel to the stay. Only suggestion would be to upgrade couch size in living space and change carpet.

Excellent stay. Recommend staying on the 8th floor or above for a better room experience. Both french and Japanese breakfast options are both great.

The room was small but had everything necessary. The walls were not soundproof, we could hear noises from outside during the night.
