Overall it was a great stay, very friendly staff clean (the shower drain needed hair pulled out). The mattresses need replaced, super hard and definitely worn in. Would also be nice with they through on some bedbug protectors, but had no rating on the facility. The breakfast was your typical breakfast, just wish their was a little more variety, same things served for 3/4 of our days.

Got there room was dirty nothing had been clean old beer cans under beds chips in the couch got switched rooms toilet was closed and over flowing same with garbage everywhere got switched again . 3rd room was better but still dirty old furnace filter left out in the open no sheets on hide bed and leave it in there few random. Things under bed I do not recommended staying here ! Far from clean and terrible service

This 2 bedrooms suite is nice and roomy for 4 guests with affordable price, close to markets and place to eat . The free breakfast have more food than any other place I stayed . Will book this hotel again when have chance .

The hotel was in a great location. The employees were nice. Had to change rooms because of a water heater issue. 2nd room's dishwasher didn't work. That wasn't important enough to me to change rooms again. Both rooms were really dark and weren't the cleanest. Hot tub and pool were nice and warm.

Everything was wonderful except the housecleaning. I had to rearange yhe living room furniture at one point only to find it filthy underneath & behind most of it. One of the pillows even had some sort of sauce dried on it.

Used to be a great place to stay!
The GrandStay hotel is a hotel that we stay at most of the time we come down to visit our son and his family and normally, have really good luck. This time it was quite different. When we got to a room, we found that the dishes in the dishwasher were gross, and no dishwasher pods, bags of trash in the cabinets, and very few utensils. We went down to the desk to tell him all these things and he sent us on our way with some plastic silverware, napkins, and only one pouch of dishwasher soap. This was that we could clean the dishes in the apartment. We had a three night four day stay. On day two there was a woman in the breakfast area with her little dog in her arms for 15 minutes. She was getting her food, coffee, juice, eggs, waffles, etc. The entire time while holding that little dog. Stated this to the front desk...oh, well. I'm almost a platinum member and was not given any compensation or up-grade. We will definitely be choosing another hotel line.

The room was clean- which is what I really needed. Areas for improvement: they had breakfast end at 9am on Saturday and consequently- everyone was showering between 10 and 11, leaving no hot water. Maybe if breakfast were until 10 this would be spread out and they wouldn’t have this problem. I don’t think I’ll be back. Staff was nice and said it was because they had a full house- but running out of hot water is an issue.

The staff was so friendly we forgot some things at home they made sure we had it. The room was clean and spacious it was quiet and the daily cleaning staff made sure we had clean towels and anything we needed. Its going to be a place we go back to. Did not meet any unfriendly faces. Compared to other properties in Ames this was the best we have experianced. Will be our go to place when we stay there nice pool and hot tub. Full refriderator and small kitchen. We had plenty of room for family.

Dirty and run down
Dirty, musty smelling, booking photos didnt match. Hot tub out of order, ceiling dripping above pool. Toilet wouldnt stop running, burned out bulbs, 2nd tv wouldn't work, dirty dishes in dishwasher and no detergent available, broken drawers. Shower had too much pressure, went all over floor and never got hot even at 630 am. Only positive is the large space
