This place has a distinct "hostel" vibe, and a primarily 20-something clientele. As a middle-aged person I felt a bit out of place. However, it's clean, the staff are professional and friendly, and the facilities are cute. Great breakfast and bar, too! Be aware that some of the pods (odd numbers) are accessed via a small ladder, like a bunk bed. I am a spry 50-year-old, but I have to admit it was a bit tricky to get in and out. There is also only a curtain to provide privacy. I was concerned about safety (I move a lot when I sleep) so if that's you as well, I suggest requesting a bottom pod. (I actually asked to be moved, and they put me in a private room for the second night, for no charge.) The place is a goo 10-minute walk to the ferry (a free 2-minute ride to the train station/central Amsterdam.) It's a bit annoying with a suitcase, but ok. It's also a 10-minute walk to bus and tram stations, which get you to central Amsterdam without going on the ferry. Overall: a great option for a very cheap place to stay: great value if you are looking to spend as little money as possible yet get a clean and modern hotel.

awesome hotel with wonderful restaurant

awesome place with great onsite restaurant that i ended up having 3 breakfasts and 4 dinners over 6 nights. they did an amazing job converting a church into a hotel. rooms were very compact but intelligently designed that didn’t feel cramped. quiet neighborhood that isn’t too far from public transportation. bicycles available for rent.

Very friendly staff, very cute design, decoration established on existing church; as if staying in an art gallery; onsite locker for earlier arrival and pre-check in is convenient with cheap rate. First time tried the pod in a shared room, quite nice for a short staying. Facility is very clean, quiet except for the neighbour pod snoring sound which is out of control LOL. Overall, it’s a nice experience.

Good atmosphere. Unique building and style. Restaurant was tasty, if a bit expensive. Very nice burger and chips. Showers and toilets good. Bunk bed was comfortable for me (5ft 8), maybe less if you're over 6 ft. Friendly staff. Nice area, quite close to the north park and nice canal to walk by. Easy ferry (free) to get to Amsterdam central station. Storage under bed was fine. Only downside, if the bunk above you has someone snoring, that can be annoying.

Killer concept and it was fun to explore the hotel and find little easter eggs hidden everywhere. The fact it's in a repurposed church was really cool to me. Lounge area was really nice. Attached restaurant was a bit pricey. Hard to climb up to the second level of capsules though. Accidentally fell once while climbing the ladder.

Our experience at the Bunk hotel has been exceptional. The room are spotless, and the staff members are consistently welcoming. Additionally, the hotel is located in a peaceful area, just a 15-minute journey from Amsterdam Centraal.

Lovely hotel with a mix of capsule pod type hotel rooms and conventional rooms in an old converted church. The hotel is located in a more quiet neighbourhood yet is one Metro stop away from the central station. It also has a restaurant right inside or there is a grocery store within walking distance with some good options. I will absolutely consider staying here again.

Perfect place that is not located in Central Amsterdam that can be very crowded. The ferry is walking distance and very easy to take back and forth when visiting the city center. Highly recommend staying at Bunk.

Our new second home!

After 14 trips to Amsterdam collectively between my partner & I, we finally found The Bunk Hotel and we plan to return every single time we go back to Amsterdam. It was cool & quirky, showcasing incedibly talented, local artists. Not to mention, the art behind building a modern hotel within a beautiful, old church that was just incredible in itself. The food's & drinks were delicious and always came out quickly - we are definitely going to pre-book breakfast for everyday we stay next time as it saves a little money. We weren't sure about doing it to start with as we weren't sure if we would like the food but it's honestly amazing and a lot of love goes into their food and customer care. Their interior design is so thoughtful, it would have been nice to have a recycling bin in the hotel room but there was some by the elevators so not far. Finally, onto the lovely team of staff! Every single person who we came into contact with was cool, friendly, caring & hospitable. We really appreciated their level of passion and care. There is currently building work happening opposite the hotel but this wasn't distressful at all and we couldn't hear it at all once in the hotel & is it course no negative reflection on BUNK. We have been back in our home country of England less than 24 hours and already looking forward to our return trip! A HUGE thank you again to the guys at BUNK hotel, for making our holiday even more special :-) - Hannah & Canna x
