The first 2 nights we stayed there, we had very noisy upstairs neighbors. We asked to swich rooms and the staff was very accommodating. After that, the rest of the stay was great.

Overall it’s ok, nothing terrible but not wow either.. our first room was very dark and depressing with a tiny widow facing a wall.. the bathroom tiny and outdated. The glass on headboard was broken so they changed us to a better upgraded room, that was much better in terms of light and overall better.

Rooms need serious upgrading

Most of the staff are very attentive Especially main desk reception . For the many you pay your literally getting basic breakfast only. No room service. Mould in bathrooms You have to ask for everything slippers rob which never arrived. No fridge in room . If it wasn’t for the staff I would rate it lower.

Very Disappointing

This was my 15th weekend trip to Amsterdam across as many years and every time in a different hotel but this was the least enjoyable place to stay. The room we were allocated was an ‘attic’ style room on the top floor. Small, one very small window and whilst the bathroom was a good size the water in the shower was not hot. We asked to move (the first time I’ve ever done that - I’m 57!) we were moved but it’s not ideal on a weekend break. We took breakfast in the hotel on the 2nd day. The best I can say is that it needs totally remodelling. In its current state the buffet has no flow. We paid around 330 euros per night without breakfast plus tax. This hotel did not offer value for money. I’m generally a happy traveler and a generous reviewer, but this was very poor value for money

I would have scored higher marks, this was due to the fact that the room was in need of attention. Wall paper was coming away from the corner of the ceiling probably due to water ingress from the roof as it was a top floor room, bathroom sealant around the shower screen and bath badly corroded and mouldy in bad need of attention. It’s a shame as the public areas are nice and the staff very pleasant and efficient,location is superb.

A lovely experience overall. Friendly staff and a fantastic location. My 13 year old daughter and I booked the Superior Twin Room. There was a major incident in central Amsterdam the day we travelled and we had some trouble getting to the hotel as there were no trams. We were stressed, tired and hungry were given an unexpected bill and not shown to our room. There was a 'Burlesque' book in the room to look at, which was strange with a teenager. The pressure was so low in the shower, my daughter (with very thick hair) could not wash her hair the whole stay. There was also an annoying shelf that stuck out awkwardly and we kept bumping our arms and breasts into it. Very painful. There were no fried eggs for breakfast, but maybe this is cultural. The rest of the breakfast was amazing. Despite paying extra for a daily room clean, they did not seem to hoover our room the whole stay. All the staff (apart from the first experience on entry) were absolutely lovely and friendly. Despite the above, we would come again.

This is a fine hotel but I booked a superior room I could not tell you what was superior. It was very small no where for bags at all. Bed was super comfortable!! The one morning I had a lay in the cleaner was so noisy in the next room but the walls are paper thin!! Overall I was not that impressed with this hotel at all for the money!!
