It was carzy expensive, we got the canal view room, and the windows were so full of condensation and black mold, we couldn't see, or want to look out of them. Toilet was minuscule even by European standards, when I want to spit out my toothpaste it landed on the floor because the sink was so tiny! I could go on, but I'm telling you to please spend your $$€€ somewhere else. Two thumbs WAY down!

Phenomenal Staff, Great Location
Charming hotel right on a canal. Staff is excellent, went above and beyond. Location is great for the city. The only negative: there are no elevators and if you are up a flight or two, you will be going up very narrow stairs. Other than that: nice to stay in a hotel with character and charm.

It was fine but wouldn't stay again because the walls are really thin and you can hear the conversations next door. Positives: 10 min walk to centraal station friendly reception team they clean your room during your stay Negatives: You can hear everything going on in the room next door so it's not a great night sleep. You could bring your ear plugs I guess and that might make it bettter

The hotel is very small, but very cozy. Our room was in the building next door, so we had to go outside to go to our room, just good to know for other customers. The staff was amazing, always friendly and accommodating. We arrived in Amsterdam hours before our check in time, and we were able to drop off our luggage at the hotel to explore the city. Then our rooms were ready early and we were able to check in early with no issues.

Really loved my stay here. Convenient location walkable from Centraal Station (and was able to store my bag there after check out and keep it there until right before my departing train). Staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Had a room with a lovely canal view.

Nice boutique hotel in a great area of the city if you want to be close to the train in a nice neighborhood but away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy centrum area and main boulevard. It was our 4th time staying here. The staff is great and knowledgeable, and the decor and rooms are charming, but small, as are the bathrooms. There’s someone at the front desk 24/7 which is a plus. The lobby has a nice sitting area and bar. The 1st and 2nd levels are fairly accessible, but be prepared to climb steep narrow stairways if you’re on the 3rd or 4th level. The staff is ready and waiting to assist with your bags if needed, so not an issue.

Charm wins in Amsterdam canal district
Super little boutique hotel in one of the loveliest spots in the canal district. Welcoming staff and sweet rooms although very small, as I suspect many rooms in such a district would be as the buildings are so old. However, if you like charm, proximity to the most beautiful parts of Amsterdam and a relaxed vibe, you would love Max Brown Hotel, Canal District. Also very close to Amsterdam central station so saved money on taxis.
