Upon arrival to my surprise, was placed in a room which I was sure I had not booked. The owner protested that yes, this was what I paid for and I, too exhausted from the trip to argue, moved in, still wondering. The night was a horror as precisely every 8 min a loud machine would turn on in the wall behind the head of the bed. I finally stumbled out of bed and started flicking all the switches I could find until finally, one in the bathroom seemed to do the trick. In the morning I awoke to dozens of frantic messages from the owner and his sister that I had turned off the water supply to the whole house. Duh.
Exploring the complex, I found "my studio" - albeit occupied, and with my computer up and running, I could prove that that was, in fact, what I had booked. The owner seemed surprised, but offered to help move me that day as the occupants were leaving and promised to reimburse me for the first night which was the least he could do for the horrific nightly experience and the extra packing and unpacking which all cost me precious vacation time.
Four months, over 50 emails and whatsapp messages between myself and him and his sister, both of them reiterating I would receive my refund, requesting my account number three (3!) times explaining it had been accidentally deleted, thus giving me an unheard of runaround and I still have no refund. I believe I will not receive one as as of approx 8 weeks, my messages are being read, but ignored....
