We were hot most of the time in our room. Our room was dirty and overflowing with trash. We stayed 5 nights and no one came to clean. By the time we left it smelled and it was so hot. Uncomfortable. The front desk was nice and the breakfast was good. Just wish we didn’t have to worry about the cleaning & heat.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Spme rooms were being renovated. the rooms we had were clean and the towels were nice. I would stay here again. The provided shuttle service was a great plus and the drivers were very nice.

This hotel was so horrible! Our room wasn’t clean, we were assured the pool would be open, it was not. The guests had loud music and stomping until 4 am even after we told two different employees. Employees were doing drugs out front of the main entrance when we arrived. I DO NOT recommend this hotel!! VERY disappointed and dissatisfied.

Will Not Return...Ever

We knew we were in for quite a stay from the moment we entered our room. Although at first sight, the room looked clean, a lingering odor of urine persisted. Other rooms in the hall smelled worse when guests opened their doors. The pool, a major factor in our hotel selection, was not open for the first two days. Afterward, the water was freezing and not safe for swimming. Moreover, it reeked of mold - which was visible surrounding the edges of the pool. Aside from one staff member, all the staff encountered were unfriendly and seemed put out by standard requests (out of toilet paper, needing towels after three days, needing to throw away trash because the trash was never picked up from the single trash bin in the room). The hotel is renovating, which is definitely needed. The furnishings in the room were torn, the leg on the side table was not completely attached anymore, the bathroom shower was spraying water on the wall, which must have been for quite some time because mold was building up, and there was cut out section of wall at the base of where the mold was that was not repaired. The one acceptable feature of the hotel was that the beds were comfortable, despite the legs starting to bend to the side.

The drivers, breakfast staff and front desk staff were nice and helpful. The property is in much need of renovation and has long term residents living there with their broken down cars. The bed was comfortable but my room was said to have a fireplace, which it did not. It did have a nice jacuzzi tub which was an unexpected surprise but the intake cover was off and posed a danger to my leg. The window in our first floor room was broken and didn’t lock. The screen didn’t fit the window and the window frame was messed up so cold air came in. The driver’s were very accommodating in dropping and picking up with lots of recommendation and information about the area. With the homeless living along the River walk there wasn't a feeling of safety at night time. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms very small. The price dropped by $30 a night from when I booked it and when we arrived and with the conditions, that was salt to the wound. Would I stay again, no. Would I recommend to someone else, no. Anchorage is a great place with lots to do, it’s just nice that when you’re tired and need to spend some time in your hotel, you can and feel comfortable and safe.

Staff are wonderful

The plusses are the staff was super helpful and they have a driver who will shuttle you around town or to/from the airport as needed. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was quite good compared to a lot of hotel fare. The place is old and tired. A bit drab, some broken tiles and peeling wallpaper, etc.

Don’t book

This was absolutely the worst experience I’ve had with Hotels.com booking. We get there, there’s trouble checking us in. We get a room, it’s definitely in need of some TLC, the shower had a steady drip. Tried to just turn it off. Went for a run the next morning, came back ti shower and the shower doesn’t even work! Took a spit bath, checked out told them.. oh you have to pull hard on the shower level… no we tried that and didn’t work… since i booked through a third party, i couldn’t get any kind of a discount or money back!

I rented two rooms. Mice were seen in both rooms. Housekeeping did not empty our trash during our 4 night stay and I noticed that other rooms would leave garbage outside their doors. I think that helped attract them in. The staff did not seem very surprised or concerned when notified. Everyone working was very kind, I just think more leadership would make some improvements.

Call before heading there

We decided to cancel our room and go somewhere else. The property was being refurnished so the whole top floor was closed. We got a king room, but none were avilable. We asked for connecting rooms, they had none. The pool was not in service. None of this was ever communicated to us. BUT the front desk was so nice and she did help us get all charges reversed. She did her job well.
