Common areas are beautiful! And the museums are a jewel of colonial art and history. However, the rooms do not complement the rest of the property. Rooms are bland, no color, no decoration and dated furniture. The bathroom must have been renovated back in the 90s. I had to ask for hand soap and shower gel for two people. They keep little pieces of paper with messages about reusing towels all over, placed them even on your pillow. Only two bottles of water for your entire stay!!! The staff is professional but you don’t really feel welcome. Other four star hotels in Antigua offer so much more.

I was trying to decide between this hotel and Villa Bokeh, and I decided to stay one night at both. It was the perfect combination since this one is close to the center, and the other is a beautiful, tranquil setting just outside of the city. The 400 year old walls seen throughout this hotel make it an incredible experience. The restaurant and bar are both wonderful. I would highly recommend the VIP suite, as it is only a little bit more money, but is very large and very well done

A beautiful property, the steam room could be warmer and the pool was under construction when we were there. The staff were amazing, the property is beautiful and immaculately kept, parking was easy and convenient and the food was excellent. Highly recommend.

absolutely stunning and unique property. well maintained, and they did an amazing job or turning it into a living museum. rooms were large and very comfortable. beds were cozy, food was very good. location is close to many restaurants/cafes and very central. pool/jacuzzi area is so beautiful and clean. amazing views of volacanos. highly recommend this hotel.

The property is absolutely stunning, I walked around with my mouth open most of the time because it’s so beautiful. I got an offer to upgrade to the deluxe standard room for an extra $10 and it’s is a really pretty room. Good water pressure, comfy bed, a safe to store your passport etc. I had a hummus dish in the bar with a glass of wine and that dish is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever eaten. Stayed 2 nights in Antigua before heading to Lake Atitlan and will definitely come back and spend more time.

This hotel is truly a work of art — quite literally. It feels like staying in a museum, with paintings, sculptures, and various works of art beautifully displayed throughout the property, each accompanied by detailed descriptions. There's even an actual museum on the premises, which adds a unique cultural touch to the experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the pool area is a great place to relax, complete with a nearby sauna for added comfort. However, I would strongly recommend dining at nearby restaurants instead of the hotel's main restaurant. Although the staff ask about food allergies and dietary restrictions, they do not seem adequately trained to handle them. In our case, my niece has an egg allergy, and we clearly communicated this to the waitress. Despite this, her meal did not meet the specified requirements, and the staff were unsure whether or not the food contained egg. This kind of oversight could have had serious consequences. Fortunately, the surrounding area has many excellent dining options, so you won’t be short on great places to eat. Overall, the hotel offers a memorable and enriching stay — just plan to eat elsewhere for peace of mind.

Santo Domingo Hotel is a very beautiful hotel. Although it is very expensive for Guatemala. They charged everything extra. From my last time I stayed here the prices for the Spa treatments were very reasonable. Not anymore. Overall still a beautiful property
