The lock in the neighboring room was not properly locked, which caused the guest next door to accidentally enter my private patio and see me naked with my girlfriend. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life.

Mediocre stay

The hotel itself is charming. The coffee that was highly touted was terrible. The beds were like sleeping on plywood. There was no air ventilation Very adequate stay. The gardens were amazing and they had free parking. centrally located hotel.

Like stepping back in time into a colonial villa, this expansive property features multiple landscaped courtyard gardens and hearty antiques throughout. We had a fireplace in our spacious room. Centrally located just steps away from the town's main church and a few blocks from the park. Friendly and helpful staff. A GREAT experience. LOVED IT!

The hotel is beautiful and located in the heart of Antigua, only a few minutes walk from anywhere you want to go in the city. The rooms are fairly soundproof but if you're facing the main street it can still be noisy at night. The staff is also incredibly nice and helpful.

We stayed here previously. Our room then was in a different part of the hotel and we had a wonderful time. This time, the staff were, once again, fantastic, the hotel is beautiful and the location can’t be beat. However, during this stay we had the misfortune of being assigned to room 101. It had no window and was extremely noisy. We could hear every car, conversation and footstep going down the street. It would not have been any noisier, had we grabbed our pillows and slept on the sidewalk. I recommend the hotel, but would never stay in room 101 again.

huge downside is that we were able to hear neighbors using bathroom, shower, etc.- paper-like walls. also there were no fans or AC so be prepared. the location of the hotel is perfect and staff are super nice.

The Posada Don Rodrigo, ideally located in the center of Antigua, is a beautiful traditional building with details from the past couple of centuries. Every staff member I interacted with over the 6 days I spent there was friendly and attentive. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. There is also a great view of the volcanoes from the second floor terrace.

Fabulous very old hotel with the best breakfast and food and music. Also several hundred years old but like new inside. Most beautiful garden with many fountains. We enjoyed a bottle of very nice wine in the rocking chairs after eating dinner at the hotel. They arrange the trip to Panajachel for half the rate of the uber driver and much nicer accommodation and solid air conditioning.

This was such a great stay we decided to stay one extra night! The staff were so nice and attentive, best staff I’ve ever seen! The area made it convenient to find a quick bite, a quick sweet treat, also so nice to step out and see the beautiful arch. The rooftop gave a beautiful view of the volcano and many buildings and churches nearby. I highly suggest this stay!
