Beautifully restored visually, but COLD, complicated mobile key system that asked for too much information, unattended by staff, broken blind in room, bathroom difficult to unsafe for older folks with an 18 inch high toilet and ver high sided clafoutis tub with no safety mat so declined use, bathroom door hinges clunked noisily when closed and woke up partner and probably adjoining room. Had stayed there under old management several years ago and nice B & B, then; won’t stay there again and COLD FLOORS, small electric space heater only, no hot water only tepid at best. Uncomfortable all but bed which was good, no decaf coffee pods and no way to access some since unattended building.

No receptionist, only a confusing process of downloading instructions to download an app to request a temp password so a new password would be created and turning on Bluetooth....then a significant delay in receiving approval. Because they have over 3 locations it was confusing which house to drive to and the entrance was not marked making it all the more problematic. I had to make 3 calls to figure it out. 2 of 10 approval rating on check-in!!!!

Individual rooms had no heat control. The control was in the hallway and the heat was not working. We were told it would take awhile to warm up. It did not; the temperature dropped from 61 to 55 during the night. We were given a space heater to knock the chill off or it would have been unbearable. The next day the housekeeper informed us it was under repair in another unit. We read the guest log and someone else claimed they had been without heat for their 3 day stay. No ice at either facility either. We were able to get ice at a sister facility and wondered if there had been availability there? We were never offered an opportunity to move. The staff knows the heat is out in at least two buildings but nothing is being done.

TV had no listing of channls except the 200+ on the screen. Lighting was poor. Water appeared to be from a shallow well and smelled of sulphur. Pleasant ambience almost made up for the minuses

We had room 24 and it was really a nice room. I loved the tub, I could lay my 5'10" body fully in it. The room was very clean and I liked it had a kitchen. We were able to walk downtown with no problem. I am 70 and don't have issues walking. We come here once or twice a year and stay overnight and will come back every time now.

Quaint

Nice hotel but old. Never really saw a person everything was done electronically, including locking and unlocking the doors. We did hear something scratching on the door during the night but didn’t check to see what it was. All in all a nice quaint hotel.

Nice but Too Many Inconveniences

The inn now uses virtual checkin—which I didn’t know when I booked. My room was very cold but, they offered a change of rooms which corrected the problem. It is a very nice property but, it is not the comfy, friendly place used to be. After staying here every year for years, I will not be returning.

The location was within walking distance to town. There were very limited breakfast options. Unable/inconvenient to use the virtual key so we had to go to the main location to get keys to use. We chose a king room, but was given a bed which felt like a double, so we didn't sleep well. We had to call the main location numerous times to get coffee, cups, water & clean towels as nobody was onsite to help us out. The creamers curdled when used in our coffee...fortunately we brought our own cream. We had to wait to get these items delivered to our room. We won't be staying at this property again as it would have been the same price to stay at a hotel which would have offered much more service than we received here.

My sister stayed here 7 years ago and described it as posh with a wonderful breakfast. That was then. We stayed in the #10 double apartment. TV in living area didn't work. King bed was comfortable but held up with metal jacks with no bed skirt - unsightly. Bathroom light had a short so it came on only sometimes. Stove was unplugged and looked like it was a reject from 1958. "Ice machine" in kitchen was a solid block of ice and a very bad smell emanated from the kitchen which isn't really used now as there is no breakfast. TV in living room downstairs didn't work the first night we were there. Knickknacks in lobby couldn't have been dusted in the last six months. There was dirt all over the bed in another room that another couple had rented. You have to get an app to open your door and that took several tries to work. Another couple had to call the manager to open their door as they couldn't get the app to work at all. It's a great shame as this is a stately old beautiful home that seriously needs attention and TLC. The location is great. I am not usually one to write a review but the owners need to pay attention to their property and obviously they aren't. It was a really disappointing visit and I feel bad that this beautiful home has not had the attention any rental deserves in order to keep visitors coming.

There was no staff on the property. The cards in the lock box did not allow us to get into the property so we had to wait for someone to come and help us. These things could probably have been checked since we had called them and told them that we would be arriving late. The house was very cold so we couldn’t enjoy the rest of the house. We stayed in our room which was a little warmer than the rest of the house.
