Disliked: Room comfort
OK, but definitely not value for money.
I did find the room, although clean, one of the most uncomfortable I have had. Pillow was horrible and the bedding not much better. Could really use a little modernisation but most of all, lose the pillows for better ones, horrible nights sleep.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Arcen is a delightful Dutch town. Ate at the hotel’s restaurant and had a god meal. Thoroughly recommended. On the downside, the family room we booked was a little bit tired and could use some TLC. On the whole, great value and would stay there again.
We had a family room which was very specious. There were two connected rooms on two levels. Great, kids slept downstairs we had a large room upstairs. Just gets a little warm in the summer but with the fan provided it was good.
I for sure would recommend this place, very clean large room in a good location for a great price. Breakfast buffet also good value and kids were free.
after booking a deluxe room through the pics on website the basic room we got was not pictured and of poor standard the better room were given to the DUTCH & GERMAN guests ....so I wouldn't recommend or return here in near future
very good for a stay over when travelling from Weeze airport, country roads to the airport so no worry about getting held up in traffic. Lovely little town plenty of local restaurants to choose from.
UNFORTUNATELY ARRIVED LATE (21;OOHRS) , TO AN UNMANNED RECEPTION,(MANNED 07:30-20:00) NOT A PROBLEM BUT HAD TO WAIT FOR A MEMBER OF STAFF TO APPEAR (BARMAN), BOOKED IN QUICKLY ,GIVEN KEY ,NOT ASKED IF I WOULD LIKE ANY KIND OF REFRESHMENTS,ETC.
Picked this hotel as it was close to were the Floriade was being held. It is also close to Venlo and easily within reach of Roermond and the German border. Found it to be very comfortable with good service, although no tea/cofee making facilities in room - they were out in the landing and you had to pay 1 euro for a cup of something hot from the machine (it would also run out of water sometimes!). Would recommend the Alt Arce restaurant across the street - the food we found to be fabulous and an excellent view over the River Maas towards the setting sun in the evening.
Excellent hotel in lovely lively little town, with lots to do.

Handy for trip to Floriade
We were a bit disappointed with the hotel. Arcen is a lovely village and very handy for visiting Floriade at Venlo, but we didn't feel we got value for the prices charged. Maybe they were higher because of the Floriade but it certainly wouldn't encourage us to stay there again.

Disliked: Room comfort
Trouble finding hotel as we arrived on a market day and couldn't get anywhere near the hotel or the car park behind it. All a one way system. Hotel though is nice, but needs a bit love and attention. Room very warm and no air conditioning! Very central for Floriade and surrounding area.
Lovely little village - restaurant good, great little bakers shop close by - service in hotel good - parking a little awkward initially but sorted later - would stay again if we were in the area - Weds was special Market day/night - noise in square past midnight - but only one night of our 6 night stay !
There is no individual control for the heating. The staff appeared to be unable to turn it down. Consequently the room was too hot at night, even with the window wide open.
The food was good but the menu somewhat limited. Service was excellent. A map to find the parking would help.
