I am so disappointed in our stay at the Downtown Inn. We got there ahead of Hurricane Helene, and the staff literally abandoned the property and left all the guests there with no one on property for 2 days. There was no running water, no continental breakfast out, No one was there to check people in when they had confirmed reservations. It was abaolute insanity. They even have the audacity to kick one poor woman out of her room in the middle of the night after her home had been completely demolished because she hadn't paid, but the only reason she hadn't paid was because no one was there for her to pay. As they were kicking her out, she kept saying I am more than happy to pay. I have money to pay for my room. No one was here for me to do so. There were keys out and available for people to use. I understand that this was a devastational time for everybody, and there was nothing they could do about the water and leak, but no one was even there to help with instruction. By the end of the 2nd day a lovely housekeeper was fhere and she did her very best to support but she had VERY limited duties she was allowed to help with. The only plus was that there was a swimming pool, so we were able to use buckets of that water to flush toilets all week.

Hotel was closed, i need a refund for the 2 rooms I booked. We made it to the hotel from Indiana, do to storms the gotel was a disaster, and there was no body around to assist us and signs on the door saying hotel closed. We had nowhere else to go and risked our lives trying to get to another town or city apon leaving. Again I need a refund.

We had a quick 1 night stay here before going to the Biltmore. It was clean and location was great allowing us to easily walk downtown and enjoy the entertainment on a Friday night. Price was decent, room was good, breakfast was just so, so. Standard low grade continental breakfast, but it got the job done.

The location was great as far as being able to walk wherever we needed to. The noise level at night is terrible, you can hear everything happening on the street. The complimentary breakfast was ok and for a good amount of time. The elevator was a little scary. The staff was great and helpful. Parking was challenging.

Property was ok, check in was not good. We arrived at 4:30 (check in was 4:00) and were told that our room was not ready because we "were staying 3 nights and things need switched around". Said she would call us when our room was ready. After waiting close to a half hour, I asked again when our room would be ready and why many people checked in during our wait and the desk clerk angrily said "you're staying 3 nights, I'm doing the best I can!" Didn't make a very good first impression......maybe she was having a bad day? Otherwise, it was a good location, very walkable, which was good. It is definitely an older property but it was clean. Asheville was awesome!

Excellent location. Easy walking distance to hundreds of breweries, pubs, and restaurants. Also several live music venues. Room was clean with nice sheets and mattresses and pillows. Looked like pretty new bedding and carpeting. Had waffles, Jimmy Dean breakfast croissants, yogurt, cereal, bagels and other choices for breakfast. We will stay again when in town and would highly recommend to friends and family. Cannot beat the price for the location and a clean room. Don’t be fooled by the older looking exterior. Rooms are nice and clean.

Ridiculous air conditioner
Upon entering a room was a sign that said “the air conditioner in this room drips water in bucket. We apologize for any inconvenience. You will receive a 10% discount for each night of your stay. They did give us 10% off. No offer of another room and the air conditioner did not drip into the bucket it POURED into the bucket every time the air conditioner came on. This room should not be given to any future customers.
