This hotel is not easy to get to by car. Parking is not close to the hotel. We arrived and there was no one at the front desk. The room was in the attic and the decor was disappointing. The shower was small. It is in the historic district and in walking distance to major sites but would not stay there again.

Nice Hotel in a beautiful Assisi
We have very nice and clean room. The only minor problem was the European shower. It was very small. In America we are accustomed that client is first. At this hotel, people in the reception were talking or playing on their phones without noticing the surrounding world.... When they finally noticed you were around, they did their job. The hotel is close(down) from the last stop of the autobús from the railway station.

Great Hotel / Excellent Location / Great Price
Beautiful hotel located steps next to the Cathedral in an excellent location to access shops, restaurants, the main square, and other beautiful sites in Assisi. The staff were very friendly, the room was a decent size and very clean. The bathroom was very small and the shower was difficult to manage. The breakfast food was plentiful and very tasty. Be very careful with taxi drivers, especially if you don't speak Italian, they will try to rip you off!

Hotel San RUDEfino
After the way we were treated, I'd never stay in this hotel nor would I recommend it - here's why: The first thing the woman at the desk said IN ENGLISH was, "There is a problem." She explained the rest in rapid Italian, which was hard to understand. She didn't respond when I tried to tell her my name and show her my reservation, made no attempt to answer any of my questions as I tried to clarify what the problem was, but just repeated what she had said before. All I understood was that we were getting a different room, not why. But then she led us out of the hotel and down the street! I was concerned because my husband was using a cane and the streets are either very steep or actual stairs, plus we were carrying our bags! After a few turns, we met up with another woman who shook my hand and said, "Hi, I'm Jenny." As we started to follow her, the woman from San Rufino took off without so much as "Ciao" let alone an apology! Jenny led us to a street with several steep levels of stairs - my poor hubby! - and I asked her to explain what was going on. She said she was taking us to her hotel because there was no room at San Rufino - I knew that was not what I had been told, but what could we do? I was exasperated and frustrated, unable to understand why Hotel San Rufino did not honor our reservation. But because Jenny was so kind and considerate, we were grateful that we stayed with her instead. You can be sure I will recommend her hotel to anyone going to Assisi!

Good budget hotel in convenient location.
Hotel San Rufino provides a good value with a clean, comfortable room in a very convenient location. It's a short walk from the city bus stop to the hotel and easy walking distance to all major sites in Assisi.

Higly recommend!
Our stay was awesome... we love Assisi!!!! The hotel has a great location, is in great condition, was very clean... the only downsize are the pillows... if you suffer from neck pain, bring your own pillow... they are really hard and square, not fluffy... but everything else was perfect for our family of 6... price, space, bathroom spacious and complete, it also has an elevator, friendly and flexible staff... very cute hotel in historical downtown Assisi, well maintained and renovated

Excellent location, good hotel, but no AC.
Excellent location on the Saint Rufino square, large size room, clean room good staff. But. We stayed in this hotel in the summer and they did not have AC in the rooms, no WI-FI in the room as well. I would recommend this hotel for those who travel not in the hot season. The 3 for the room comfort, hotel condition and overall rating is for absence of AC in the rooms; everything else was quite good. We still enjoyed Assisi a lot as it is so beautiful, I would say it was our best stop out of the total 8 stops in Italy (Rome, Assisi, Siena, Florence, Venice, Verona, Lake Como, Milan). Town is very organized, clean and beautiful. The train station as you arrive to Assisi is also very organized and clean and people at the train station also helpful for tourists One shop in the town had the best prosciutto (Italian ham) we had so far.

Good hotel. Parking is a challenge. Room was clean but sparse. Bathroom towels were small and pretty much useless. Hotel staff was okay. Location was great and Assisi is a must see.

Great stay and excellent breakfast
Across the street from a municiple bldg. At night people sleeping on platform. Not dangerous, my heart went out to them. Hotel has beautiful gardens that hide the street.

Great location, nice hotel
Just stayed one night in assisi at the San Rufino. Directions to parking were not the clearest so we ended up taking a 15 minute medieval stair master with out baggage in tow, we are young and relatively fit so no biggy but it could be a challenge for others so make sure you do a better job of sorting out parking locations than we did! Parking was 10 euros for the night as well. Hotel was in a lovely location a short climb to the castle with lovely views and out room opened into a beautiful medieval Street, the room was basic but nice and very clean, Internet was a bit hit and miss bit the pizzeria next door had free WiFi so we used that. Plenty of eateries nearby, and a pizzeria right below our room. So the few (minor) bad things, the street can be noisy and there is no air conditioning, it's a mountain town so we found it cooled off nicely in the evenings so no worries on our end, but you will likely want your window open, I can't imagine wanting to turn in early when in such a beautiful town (seriously assisi is amazing especially at night) but that's just me. One other thing the beds were not the greatest.... They did the job but it wasnt super comfortable. Overall though. It was nice and priced fairly I'd stay here again no issues.

Good, Reasonably priced Accommodations in Assisi
On recent trip to Italy in Spring 2014 made excellent decision to spend the night inside the fantastic medieval city of Assisi. Lodged at Hotel San Rufino, which on the upper, higher end of the City. Hotel is not fancy, but it has everything reasonably needed for a pleasant visit and is reasonably priced.

Great Value
It was a cozy, comfortable room for a very reasonable price. We stayed in the annex of the hotel. Room was fairly big and comfortable, and there was also a big entryway room. The bathroom was small and under a low ceiling, but it had what we needed. The staff was friendly and allowed us to store our bags after checkout. They weren't as resourceful as we hoped though. No WIFI in the room, lobby only. A standard breakfast was five euro and not included

Well located hotel, reasonably priced
Second time I've stayed in this hotel. Great location in Assisi and staff are lovely. Air conditioning would make a difference and not the best hotel breakfast we had in Italy. But for €5 each was probably money well enough spent. Would recommend as a fairly budget stay. Room was spacious and very clean.

Decent, simple hotel in a good location. Our room (in the Duomo annex building) was spotlessly clean, with efficient, quiet air conditioning (though apparently not all rooms are so lucky), a bit quirkily designed with steps up into the bedroom and all tiled floors. The breakfast wasn't included, and at €5 per person, you might prefer to go to the cafe a few steps away and get real coffee. The staff are nice enough (considering that it's in Italy!), though unfortunately the reception desk doesn't open until 8am. The location is very convenient, a 5 minute walk down to the main piazza (15 minutes back uphill!), and close to the bus to the train station; there are all the restaurants you could ask for in the area. Staying here involves lots of steps and uphill climbs, but if you don't like that, better not go to Assisi.

Good Value in this Quiet Hotel
More austere than other small lodgings in Umbria but fine for a quad room. Our 17 and 21 year old daughters couldn't understand why we would bathe with "sheets" for towels (non-terrycloth!) The room was large without many amenities. The location is slightly removed from the main drag but within a short walk down a hill. Like other towns, we needed to unload the luggage from the car and quickly move it outside the city wall. There wasn't any Internet but we found a lovely bar/cafe with good and reasonable WiFi.

Great hotel in heart of Montepulciano!
Loved the Hotel!! Great location! The owner's are wonderful. The rooms are large and right near the Duomo and the main square. The breakfast was good as well. I will surely stay here again. I totally recommend this hotel and I will stay here again.
