The front desk and the driver of the shuttle service was fighting in front of us. While in the shuttle car the driver was driving so fast and he was not thinking the safety of the passengers. We were all scared because we are not from this country and the road was not in the main street and was very secluded

Very nice hotel for a short stay
First and foremost the hotel is very nice - it is modern, clean, comfortable, and well located. The rooms are basic but well appointed, and if you’re lucky you’ll get a sea view (as I did). All rooms have balconies with seating. Oh and the breakfast is excellent - lots of choice and the restaurant area is clean and spacious. I get the impression many travellers use this hotel for short stays either for late arrivals into Athens for travel elsewhere, or the end of a holiday before flying home. To that end, the free shuttle to and from the airport is an excellent add-on. Easy to find at the airport and only a 20 mins drive away. There is not a huge amount to do in Rafina, though it is a cute little port town with plenty of cafes, restaurants and local shops. St Nicolas chapel is worth the short walk. Overall I would recommend Avra for visits to Rafina - does the job and is well priced for what you get.

The air conditioning was on heat only and we went able to put in on cool to sleep better. The beds were very soft and not much to sit on. When we checked in the person was not very friendly or helpful

We choose Avra as it is very close to the ferry. Free Shuttle to airport and breakfast spread was excellent. We had a beautiful view of the Rafina port. Lots of dining options near by. Good location to the ferry, nice staff, clean and safe property. Elevator was extremely small and slow, we had to plan ahead to avoid the long wait. Overall great experience, and made our trip a memorable one.

I would have given this property 5 stars if it was not sure our shuttle experience. We were told the shuttles come on the hour. My husband and I had a plane arrival at 5:20PM. We were told the shuttle would pick us up at 6:30PM. We waited in the airport about an hour. There were no signs of shuttle. When I called the hotel to express my concern I was yelled at and told to “look outside. If it is not there you missed it.” After persisting, I asked if the hotel could please confirm whether the driver was on the way or not. The hotel made me stay on hold and stated, “He is not picking up. You PROBABLY missed him.” I ended the phone conversation as I was on hold, paying international phone call price without resolution. I called back and hotel said, “get a taxi, the shuttle was in an accident.” My husband and Inwasted over an hour of our last night in Greece dealing with the shuttle/hotel. If we had known the shuttle was not coming this would not have happened. When we got to the hotel, the story changed. It was stated that the car “broke down” but another one would be available tomorrow. Shuttle back to the airport the following day was seamless. I just wish the hotel was more honest initially with shuttle to the hotel. Positive note- hotel paid for our taxi The hotel itself is in a great location, comes with complimentary breakfast. Perfect for quick stay.
