Did not receive breakfast or even coffee. No upgrade. Staff did not show up to open the coffee shop. Charging for parking at this location is not necessary. Plenty of parking on site - big open parking lot. Stayed here many times over the years and never paid for parking. We tried to check in about 45 minutes early and were told it would cost $75. What a joke this place is - so sad. It has changed names/management several times and I think they don’t care any more. Sadly, I think this previous gem is about to sell out and be torn down. Also, no spa onsite anymore.

The front staff gave the maintenance man a key to my room instead of the one he was supposed to go to, and it scared the crap out of me in the middle of just falling asleep. Then he proceeded to make a bunch of noise above me.

Some guests have given this motel poor reviews but I found it acceptably clean and comfortable. If you understand that this is indeed a refurbished MOtel, not a hotel, then you will not be put off by the door-adjacent parking spaces (which are pretty convenient!) and the parking lot noise. The room was pretty basic but the bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The nostalgia-esque based decor is a bit junky, but whatever. The location is great, close to the UGA campus and lots of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A couple of notes: the TV is not internet connected, so you only get live TV and not very many channels at that. When I turned on the AC unit for some heat, it emitted a chemical smell and triggered the smoke alarm. The front desk staff seemed to be aware of this and unsurprised. There is parking lot noise, but it's not excessive, usually some late arrivals and early departures. This place is a little pricey for what you get, but will suffice if you're looking for a basic room in a good location.
