Overall the hotel itself was great. Staff was very helpful and attentive. The breakfast buffet offering we also above expectations. And the view from the rooftop pools and patios are amazing! I would definitely return. Athens itself need some more time to recover from past economic downturns (a lot of graffiti, and not in the artistic way). But overall the people were very friendly.

The grand Hyatt in Athens was very underwhelming. I stayed for a total of two days after spending 8 days in Rhodes and this hotel had my wife and I ready to go home. I would NOT consider this hotel to be a 5 star hotel, at most 3 stars. To start the mini fridge in our room was room temperature with crumbs and grime along the bottom. Besides that fact it was dirty, we made sure not to drink anything from the fridge because of how expensive their prices were after having lunch at their restaurant which included two cocktails, one burger and one pasta dish that totaled over 130

Check-in was awful. We queued for over half an hour to have to be told the rooms weren’t ready and to come back at 3pm (which was ok as check-in is at 3pm) we came back at said time, queued for another 30 mins and the rooms still weren’t ready. Once we eventually got the keys, we weren’t told a single piece of information and was left to it. We had 3 rooms which should have all been the same but were completely different. It just seems so unorganised and we were told this wasn’t even busy it was quiet! I hate to think how it is when busy if that’s the case.

Great location in terms of proximity to the cruise port and the acropolis. Room was clean and well cared for. Staff is helpful and nice. However there does not seem to have a lot around the hotel in terms of restaurants or sightseeing that guest could enjoy without a 20 min walk towards the acropolis.

The property itself was excellent. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. My only complaint is that on the day I arrived, I got there a little early so my room wasn't ready. Which is completly understandable. However, we left our luggage with the hotel to watch while we stepped out to get something to eat. When our room was filnally ready, we went to get our bags only to find out one of our bags had been given to another guest by accident. It was a huge inconvience to have to wait while the bell boys scrambled to try and locate it. We eventually got it back but I couldn't help but wonder it the other guest had gone through our bag. It just seemed a litle creepy.
