It is a dump and not clean
The place is in a state of disrepair -th grab bar was hanging by one side the screws coming out and the bathroom tiles are cracked and moldy. What a dump I can’t believe Marriott puts there name on this building. This place needs a major cleaning and renovation. Will not be back. Should have stayed at the Hilton.

I enjoyed my stay at the Fairfield. I came up to Georgia from Florida because of hurricane Milton and my boyfriend had some work to do in Atlanta so it all worked out. The staff was very welcoming, true southern hospitality. I was kind of disappointed there weren’t more stores or restaurants nearby. I like to have a variety of options to choose from. The valet was definitely more expensive than I’m used to, but I’m guessing it was the downtown area price. The hotel is beautiful, historic and very clean even though one of the elevators was down for renovations thankfully, I was on a lower floor so I could take the stairs and did as much as possible. The next time I’m in Georgia specifically Atlanta I will definitely be looking to book another stay at this hotel.

Easy and hospitable
Very conveniently located near the train at 5 Points Marta station in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Easy and short trek from the airport then just a few steps to the hotel. Hospital check in and concierge service. Need to update the antiquated payment card machine but other than that the staff at the front desk and eating area were top notch. I highly recommend.

Unfortunately I felt very unsafe coming and going from the hotel, obviously not the staff’s fault - the metro is just over the road which is useful but I was very worried returning after dark. Only one lift is currently working in the hotel which leads to a lot of waiting around. The room is a nice size but needs a refresh, I did have cockroaches. I stayed for 5 nights and only had my room cleaned once - I came back early evening one day to my door being open. The room hadn’t been cleaned, and there was no sign of the service team - I can only presume they thought they’d cleaned my room and left my door open. Another safety concern for me.

Only one elevator was working. We had to take the stairs to our room on the 8th floor - or wait half an hour to use the one elevator. The rooms looked beat up- and needed definite refurbishment. The area around it (Five Points) is very rough - with homeless people everywhere in various states of consciousness. Not a nice place

One of the elevators was not working. The other one takes forever and sometimes the door just closes and reopens by itself without changes floors and just stays there for minutes. We literally got late to a WWE show last night because of this. The temperature in the room what hot as heck even when the thermostat was around 60. The toilet takes forever to flush. The bed was caving in so my pregnant wife could not get a proper sleep. The pillows were flat, so no even using two pillows helped at all. In the morning, still during breakfast hours, they ran out of food and even turned off the lights on people who were still eating what little bits of fruit were left. Also the premises were dirty and seemed unsafe, with lots of shady people and drug usage in the area. This has been my only bad experience at a hotel so far; so disappointed. I do not recommend this place at all.
