The overhead light in front of the window, would not turn off. Flipped the switch off and it dimmed but never went off. This was not a dimmer switch. Had to sleep with that light on. Toilet tissue felt like crepe paper! Toilet only flushed thoroughly the 2nd flush each time and almost ran over with only tissue in it. The window curtain wouldn't close all the way due to a broken hook. Sink faucet handle popped off. Bathtub faucet was loose. Bathroom was smaller than a camper bathroom. One of the electric plugs by the TV didn't work. The toilet was so low to the floor it looked like a child's toilet. The bathroom sink wasn't in the bathroom. It was outside the bathroom! Lastly, the front desk didn't even tell us the gate required a code to exit the property. Had to go back in and ask for the code because when you call Holiday Inn Express, you get a reservation desk in another city. Just wasn't a good experience. Will not stay there again.

I missed my flight and I booked the closest hotel that provided shuttle travel back to the airport. I called the hotel to confirm my reservation since it was last minute and also asked what was the correct shuttle I should be getting on. There are other locations and other shuttles that go to the drop off/pick up shelter and when I asked one person who I thought was the correct one, he said he could drop me off and that he took tips. When i called the hotel, the guy explained that was a scam and told me the correct spot to be picked up in. Their shuttle came in about 5 minutes. The hotel clerk who I spoke to on the phone was the one who checked me in and he was nice. My room was a handicap room and I suspect it was because it was one of the last open ones. But everything was cleaned, and didnt smell like smoke or stale. I missed my morning flight but its probably because I had been running around through the airport and security areas to find where I needed to check into and all the long lines that when I got back to the hotel room I ate and nodded off to sleep in the comfortable bed! Thanks and I will definitely stay here the next time I come back to ATL.
