We chose the ORIGIN Atlanta, Wyndham Hotel as a last-minute option when we unexpectedly had to stay overnight in Atlanta, not knowing Atlanta or the surrounding areas we chose downtown as our hotel near the courthouse. The check-in @ the desk had no issues & the staff was extremely nice. However, this is where things started to go a little downhill. The first room we checked into had NO windows whatsoever looking out. The room felt like a walk-in closet so due to claustrophobia we had to be moved to a room with windows. That was weird. Especially when the rooms do not even have closets I guess bc the room itself is just one big closet (some with no windows). The rooms itself are very minimalistic and very simple, aesthetically pleasing but the big issue was there was NO MICROWAVE. I was told by staff that this is the direction that they’re moving in with no microwaves in the rooms, speaking from experience that’s going to be an issue with guests staying bc people enjoy having a microwave in the room and having to go downstairs to use the one microwave in the lobby is not very accommodating at all. In addition, I found out there is no complementary breakfast in the morning. As a lover of hotel breakfasts, I was very disappointed & should’ve checked that before I booked the reservation however, I just assumed they had a breakfast bc every hotel has a nice breakfast for their guests in the morning. I was also told that this is a fairly new hotel that just opened up last year

Soo many problems I won’t even get in to here.. but can I just say the bare minimum you expect from a hotel is a clean room and hot water. NO HOT WATER! hotel claimed they didn’t know / but it wasn’t true as I witnessed many other guests saying same- then later read reviews! Shame on you Wyndham for putting your name on this property! Hotel manager I believe “Louis” passing the buck to avoid dealing with guests. No one returned my messages or calls. BEWARE.

While the staff was very friendly and helpful, several rooms including mine did not have hot water. It was a known issue, and at checkout after initially being offered a discount, the manager then "checked the room" and suddenly hot water came on for them. Mind you I had told them it didn't work previously and no one came to look at it. Overall the hotel is nice, but the renovation was rushed and not complete.

The hotel itself and staff were all 5 stars. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable and all of the staff was very friendly. Nespresso machines in every room and everything was very clean. The hotel was key card entry only at night to help with safety. The area around the hotel did not feel the safest. The hotel sits right beside the justice department and there were a lot of homeless people around it. The area around the hotel is also going through a lot of rehab so walking anywhere was not an option for anything.

Our stay was a disaster. No hot water the first night for hours, then no hot water in the morning. The staff did what they could, but they also told us it wasn't a problem for many people despite hearing about it from a half dozen others. They eventually moved us to another room that faced the interior of the building so zero natural light and didn't have a bedside table or outlet on one side. Crappy bathroom finishes, bar/restaurant that was depressing, transitional neighborhood, just would never stay there again.

The first room we were given was not made up and the phone didn't work in the room to call the front desk. We got a different room quickly which was fine. We went to the bar/restaurant to get a drink and some dinner. The service was awful and when we complained we were then ignored for the rest of the night. This hotel is fine. It is just run poorly. The only bright spot was Tracy, one of the managers who was very pleasant to speak with but event with her - she mentioned taking something off our bill for the trouble we had and never followed through with it.
