Room was small as expected however the lack of privacy from bedroom window was concerning.
Room was filled with dust and there was no air con. Went in peak summer heat and it was cooler outside than in that room.
Had an oven but nothing to cook or cut with.
Great staff, great facilities. There is no air conditioning in the rooms in the name of 'climate change'. There was a fancy dyson fan in my room, but there were no instructions on how to operate it and it just swirled hot air around the room. I had it on the entire time I was in the room so I am unsure how this helps the climate in the end. It was a hot summer's day/night I was there and I barely slept as it was 20 degrees in my room overnight and I was unable to cool it down. This could be a safety hazard on a hotter day/night. I was sweating my entire stay. A nice hotel otherwise.
Mira (excuse spelling if wrong) on the front desk is worth her weight in gold. After a cycling accident (on first day of entire holiday) they got me hospital, were extremely supportive and reassuring. Because i was seen quickly (with the hotel arrangement and help). I was able to carry on my holiday and really enjoy it. I just recommend her and this place enough. I hope whoever runs the place sees this as tge hotel and its staff are first rate.
It's a nice and very new hotel.
In the summer time, don't get a room on Queen street (it faces west). They don't include A/C with the rooms, so west facing rooms heat up and don't cool off well.
Great location, close to bus network, easy to get around. Staff very good, helpful and interested. Great restaurant, part of the hotel. The room had no air conditioning, it was very warm in the room, a fan was supplied but ineffective.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
This property was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly.
Fantastic, newly renovated hotel with great service and food! So glad I paid for breakfast to be included - the meals were delicious! Our only complaint was due to the lack of AC, but I guess it is more rare in NZ. They gave us fans, which helped. Super convenient and safe location. Would stay there again!
Great value for money if in town. It’s a bit noisy but what place in a city isn’t. If you need a place to stay to explore auckland daily and come back to at night. Good bar and food. Bed was comfy, very clean. I’ll stay again.
Booked this for a solo couple of days in Auckland. Didn’t know much about this hotel but the price was right! Upon my arrival, I realized this is so close to everything exciting for me - CBD, K Road and Ponsonby for cafes and shopping! It’s a bit annoying to get to from the airport so I took a taxi in completely but then on the way out I Ubered to Newmarket and then took the train/bus into the airport.
The hotel does not have AC - it does have a Dyson fan in the room and it is connected to the central HVAC system. I stayed in Feb with temperatures up to 27 during the day - at night I didn’t want to open the small window for fear of mosquitos, so it can be quite hot. Even with the window closed I think the mozzies came in through the HVAC system and bit me a couple of times. What’s worse is that at 7:30am there was a leaf blower and the gas fumes came through the hvac system. The room was quite dusty - mid day I came back for a rest and the sun came through and there was a lot of dust!
The Italian resto downstairs is DELICIOUS! Highly recommended.
There’s also some shared space on the first floor that is lovely if you need to do some work.
I appreciated the fridge and microwave in the room. There’s also a fugazzi Nespresso in the room for your convenience. The stove top is a bit excessive - who is cooking in these rooms? Go outside to k road and find some good food.
Overall a good stay.
Very friendly staff. Little lux studio fine for one person. Bed comfortable but short if you're 6 ft or more. Soundproofing not great between rooms so bring earplugs. Good location.
Great location and spa - studio room was quite small but all good for just one night.

The room we had was uncomfortably hot and airless.
The west facing room gets full sun and the Dyson fan provided just moves hot air around a stuffy space.
Ironically, the corridor areas and reception were noticeably cooler. Perhaps we should’ve bunked down there for the night.
The management should realise that even though it is commendable to be not using air conditioning, on environmental grounds, it is however important to provide guests with a comfortable environment temperature wise.
The air flow that keeps corridors and public areas cool needs to be directed to the rooms to aid in comfortable sleep and shade screens need to be used at the front west facing side of the property. The sun was literally bouncing off the building and into the room. It was uncomfortable to stand by the window because of this.
Do not recommend staying there in summer.
Unbearably hot.
Amazing hotel! The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The room I stayed in was neat and tidy. Location is really convinient too, not too in the city where it can get loud but close enough to walk to.
