Breakfast and room were great. Downsides were: Pool was absolutely rammed. Far too busy to be enjoyable. Club lounge was also far too busy and understaffed. The staff were doing their best but they just couldn’t keep up. Drinks took forever and supplies ran out frequently. Food selection was good though. Also there was a problem with the spa and it was only luke warm which was really disappointing when we were looking forward to relaxing in it. The reception staff were friendly but three different staff members on the phone were aloof and dismissive - didn’t seem to want to help. Seems like the hotel amenities/staffing levels can’t cope with peak occupancy.

Our Club Junior Suite was spotless and beautifully decorated, but the rest of the hotel felt overcrowded, as if they were cramming people in. The Club Lounge wasn’t very exclusive, with limited food options, understocked drinks, and no breakfast or coffee on our final day. Breakfast at Eight Restaurant had great variety but felt more like a busy food court than five-star dining. Bonus being close the Auckland Museum and Wintergardens which is only a quick Uber ride away. Friendly, attentive staff and lovely rooms, but overall not the relaxing experience we’d hoped for.

Cooked breakfast was not up to much, bread was dried out, sliced kiwi fruit had not been peeled. Pool and spa pool were undergoing maintenance, but transport and entry to Auckland tepid pools was offered. Sauna and steam room were average, but beauty treatment was amazing.

Stayed here for a weekend staycation, our room was in the pinnacle tower and was very clean and spacious. Staff were very helpful, attentive and kind. If staying here I would recommend staying in a pinnacle tower room as the normal tower looked to be busy at all times of the day.
