We stayed one night on the way to Bar Harbor. We chose this place because of multiple excellent reviews; however, the hotel didn’t meet our expectations for the $$ we paid. It’s quite outdated hotel with GRAB AND GO breakfast like back to COVID times. Room may need some updates and cleaning (poorly smelling). Bed was comfortable. We didn’t use a restaurant though as we thought for the $$ we paid we should have some decent continental breakfast. We wouldn’t stay here again.

The staff are very friendly, and they support one another. The breakfast is nicely laid out, and you had an option of preparing a bag to take with you. On a couple of days we prepared a lunch of bagel and cream cheese to take with us. This is an older hotel, but will maintained, and reminiscent of hotels I remember from 50 years ago.

I love the fact that they are pet friendly and have a wonderful hot tub. Our room was spacious and very clean. The Governors restaurant was very good!! Will definitely stay here again!

Not gonna lie, I've been to many hotels but never in my life have I received Whoopi pies at check-in!! AMAZING!!! Staff was very friendly and the grab and go breakfast was well stocked with a plethora of options. I look forward to my next stay at a fireside inn. 😁

Place is pretty cool. Although dated with a shining hotel vibe, the people are great, always hospitable. Being attached to governors is also a huge plus. Wandering over for a sweet treat of breakfast is the go to. Would recommend.

I looked at this reservation as a place to stay with a clean bed. I got so much more. Conveniently located right off the highway and a restaurant (Governor's) attached, it was a wise choice. My guess a lot of spouses of those working at the paper mill were checking in for the weekend, because the lobby was busy when I arrived. The front desk attendant handled everyone with kindness and efficency. The room itself was beautiful. Large, high ceilings, beautiful fireplace and a working window. I settled right in and waited for my hubs to get off work. He was also happy with the room. The next day, I went out to shop, this hotel made it easy as it is convenient to everything. The hotel and its pool area was being refurbished, but it didn't hinder the restful weekend. Also, the coin operated washer and dryer was a great addition to a hotel near any job site. My husband works in this area frequently and I would gladly come back here.
