Old Showa style minimalistic ryokan, but the room for 5 was spacepus (double room) and the tatami beds and beddings arw comfortable. Self-service to put the futon (which was no problem for us). Power plugs and Wifi were abundant. We were fine with steps but for eldery or disabled it may be a challenge. The hot spring bath was nice. The temperature may be on a hot side but i think it is pretty standard. The tub was indeed made of wood (I assume hinoki). The place seemed to have a fair number of day-use customers. Just a few groups staying overnight when we stayed. The breakfast was healthy, a variety of mostly plant-based items, and very tasty. We loved it. The ton-jiru was fantastic and we had a second. The location is a kind of quiet area away from towns. Only car access. We were worried about dinner options but the hotel fromt person suggested some options and the closest one worked. It was interesting to walk in the quiet neighborhood of summer houses and such. We were happy to have found this place.
