Cullentra House was our favorite B&B in Northern Ireland. Olive and James are the most hospitable of hosts and they work together as a great team. Their years of experience hosting guests really shows, and it is no wonder this is an award-winning B&B. The breakfast was delicious with a large selection of dishes to choose from. Besides recommending somewhere to find dinner after our evening arrival they gave us many suggestions of scenic spots to visit in the area the following day. The shared family room was very comfortable, especially after Olive brought in some of their baked treats. Finally, a great big thank you to James for sharing his walking cane with me . It was a huge help after twisting my knee earlier in the day at Giant's Causeway. If we find ourselves back in NI in the future, you can be sure we'll be staying here again.
This property was spotlessly clean with incredible views. The food was plentiful and portions generous. The decor is beautiful and well matched.
On the downside our bathroom radiator didn’t work and the shower was so slow I couldn’t wash my hair. Also I found the bedroom cold as the radiator was only on once during our 3 day stay. We had no storage for our clothes as the space was utilised by the proprietor for bed linen etc. We had to have the window blind down for privacy as the window looked out onto the drive way so we had no natural daylight in our room. We were asked to pay in full on arrival which was unusual. The hand soap dispenser was broken and we were only allocated one hand towel for two of us. Sadly we felt disappointed with our overall stay at Cullentra House and in light of all the minor issues we would choose not to return.

Olive is a great host and willing to help her guests have an enjoyable stay at cullentra.
We were so very pleased with our two nights here. It was exactly as described. Olive graded us so warmly and we enjoyed a pot of tea and her fresh baked cake-while overlooking one of the most beautiful views. There was a smell of fresh baked bread as we arrived, which we enjoyed the next morning along with her delicious scones.
And everything was incredibly clean with fresh towels the next morning, even though I told her we didn’t need them! Keep in mind-for high maintenance travelers-these wonderful cottages don’t have HUGE rooms for massive amounts of luggage. We don’t travel like that, but I know some do. I read someone’s comment about their room being small. We had absolutely NO complaints. We completely enjoyed our conversation with Olive and her sweet husband over breakfast. And the town is absolutely delightful. Olive directed us to a place to wash our clothes which was an outside laundromat-we even enjoyed that experience!
On a three week driving tour of coastal Ireland, mixing hotel stays with B&B's, Cullendra House B&B in Cushendall earned our top accolades for hospitality and delicious food, with presentation awards each morning for beauty and style.Olive and her husband were amazing hists!
This was the best property we stayed in during our whole vacation. Olive and her husband James are brilliant hosts. The accommodations were outstanding. We will tell everyone who goes to this area to stay here.
This place is a gem. Breakfast was the best we had on our entire trip. Olive goes above and beyond; even calling to confirm dinner reservations for us.
Thank you for your hospitality, we had lovely stay!! Room was clean, with all amenities available, comfy bed and beautifull view! BTW he breakfast is very tasty. Especially home made scones and bread!
We would love to come back.
Cullentra House was a lovely stop along our Irish road trip. We arrived late in the evening and Olive welcomed us warmly, and served a delicious and beautiful breakfast in the morning. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was large. Quick but great stay!

The view and general location…. Beautiful
Host was extremely welcoming.
We recently had the pleasure of spending an overnight in Cullentra in Cushendall as part of a birthday treat. Not only was the location a wonderful setting with mountains, sea and countryside surrounding us, the warmth and hospitality shown to us from our hosts Olive and James, really set the tone for our stay. Even adding special little touches like a box of chocolates for my birthday and a pot of tea with home made cake, on our late arrival. The next morning, the wide selection of breakfast choices was welcome and showcased Olive’s culinary skills (delicious). We even came away with extra wheaten bread and scones when we left.
The guest house was very clean, inviting. with an atmosphere of warmth, friendliness and laughter.
Thank you to our fantastic hosts, Olive and James, for providing a lovely experience. Happy to recommend to friends and family.
Thanks again, Lori & Ian
Such a beautiful place. So quiet an peaceful. Room was lovely great comfortable bed. Made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived an left. Breakfast was lovely met all are needs an beyond. Olive an James were lovely hosts, went out there way more than enough. Will definitely be back. Thank you so much.
My husband and I stayed for two nights. We had the most amazing time. The house itself was in a beautiful location with amazing views over the Glens of Antrim and the coast. The room was spacious, spotless with the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was extra special with a varied menu and generous helpings. The proprietors were charming, welcoming and very informative about the area. It’s no wonder they have won awards. We loved our time in Cullentra House.
The host was adorable and made the stay feel like home. The breakfast provided was plenty with lots of options. Definitely recommend to stay here again.
Lovely Home with the hosts very hard working keeping everything tidy! The breakfast was exceptional with extra care taken to make a guest feel special!
