A few things... Asked for an additional blanket, told they didnt have any. Was not told that bathroom light would only work with a kitchen switch on. Spent evening using cell phone light in bathroom. Said it had a pool- no pool. Strong bleach smell- unpleasant. Liked room lay-out and breakfast was good for a hotel.

Who let the dogs out.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was ready in a decent time as we booked the room late, so thank you for that. Soon entering the hotel my daughter noticed a sign on the front door stating that it was a dog friendly hotel, this took us by surprise. We stayed in room 124 which was a 2 bedroom suite with a sleeper sofa. We walked in and smelled dog immediately. We settled in to the room and set on the sofa. The sofa reeked of dog and the mattress in the couch also smelled like dog. The lighting fixture in the bathroom was rusted and the bathroom sink drain was full with a toothpaste cap, dental flossed, and another item that I could not make out but nevertheless the sink drained successfully. The carpet in the main sitting area was full of dog hair and also smelled like dog. Other than the dog smell, the stay was good.

The location was perfect and while the room itself was nicely designed, the shower was slippery and there should be a mat. The breakfast offered was poor in comparison to other hotels in this category so we were disappointed. The coffee although fresh was not hot, there was no fresh fruit, the OJ dispenser was broken and it was a pretty lackluster assortment of food.

The good: We like Townplace because we can cook our own meals and have a suite with more than one room to spread out a bit. Staff was polite. Convenient location to shopping and restaurants. The sub-par: The room's kitchen was not equiped with things like dish detergent (which we were told was out of stock for the entire 20 days of our stay there), and the room did not have extra linens and pillows for the pull-out couch bed. Housekeeping did not service the rooms according to the schedule. We had to request several times for service and didn't actually get any until we were almost through our stay. The breakfast buffet was almost non-existent on some days. Felt like maybe management had just given up or something. Overall, I've stayed at much better Townplace Suites locations.
