We stayed for three nights and loved it. The room was very comfortable with beautiful views of the mountains. We liked the location; in town, but not in the crowded center; and we really loved the breakfast. The s'mores and hot tubs were also great. We are already talking about planning our next trip there.

The hotel overall was good, but there were a few things that could be improved. Firstly, the parking was confusing. We were under the impression it was free but it is actually $19/night, or free if you can find a spot out back (staff wasn’t even sure if this was overnight parking or not). Second, our room was clean for the most part but there was an item left from previous guests that was left even after our room was prepared prior to checking in. The free breakfast was great. Also be aware this is a bit of a walk from downtown Banff!

Had a wonderful 10 days staying in Banff. Canalta Lodge was perfect for us. Beds very comfortable. Hot tubs lovely and usually not busy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Hotel was spotless. Bar and breakfast staff great. We would love to stay here again if we visit in the future.

First time in Banff

We are seniors and this was our first visit to Banff. We found the Canalta Lodge to be a pleasant, clean and spacious place to stay, but with one of our group recovering from a leg injury, it was a little too far from the main downtown area. Good restaurants nearby, but it was a hike to get to some of the interesting places in the city center. Enjoyed the outdoor space, with hot tubs available! I was surprised when I requested to purchase water bottles for a morning excursion and were told they were out. Lots of other products, snacks etc. but apparently there was an "unexpected" run on water bottles and there were no more in the building? (I noticed they had restocked by the next day.) No biggie, just surprising.

Property location was safe and walkable to dining options. Staff were friendly and service was good. Breakfast was good. However, our ground floor room location was facing another condo and our window couldn’t be open and light was limited. Room lighting needs to be better. Pantry complimentary items (coffee, milk, etc.) wasn’t filled. As such, it was over priced.

OUT OF THE BUSY PART OF TOWN

Very nice property out of the busy part of town. A nice walk to all the attractions & massive amount of choice for food & drinks. Loved the sauna & hot tubs.
