The Kenrick reopened in June 2025, after extensive renovations. The rooms are very comfortable and beautifully designed.
Our only issue with the room was the lack of places to hang a wet towel at the sink, easily resolved with a small rack. The sink is set outside the shower/toilet area, basically in the bedroom, next to the front door. I don't like these set-ups, because if your partner is sleeping, you can't easily use the sink without making noise and turning on a light. That brings up the subject of lighting. The room has nice, but very soft ambient lighting. The light over the sink needs to be much brighter. I found it very hard to put on makeup!
Overall, we had a great stay. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. The new pool has showers, two hot tubs and two saunas. There are changing rooms and comfortable places to
Lounge.
Walking to the heart of downtown is 5 minutes, and there's a restaurant attached to the hotel for pretty good meals. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance. If you're not staying at the iconic Banff Springs Hotel,
The Kenrick is a great alternative.
