Comfortable stay, clean rooms and lovely interior/exterior. Loved the coffee but shame there was no take away cups. Friendly staff. The food was delicious, we had the tenderloin. Would stay here again!

High praises! Great stay!

We loved our stay at The Otter and would definitely stay again. It’s very conveniently located close to downtown and right across the street from a bus stop (bus pass included with your hotel stay). Loved the room, the hot pools & gym, the restaurant…nothing but praises. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This was a great hotel that was located 0.9 miles from downtown Banff—very walkable location to restaurants and shops. The hotel was immaculate and the staff were very friendly. The new restaurant in the lobby was also excellent!

Overpriced for what we got. I upgraded to a room with a view and a balcony. Room was small, strange doorway floor between main room and bathroom, whoever designed the room needs to go stay in one, the light over the bed went all the way across rather than have separate ones for each side for those couples who have different sleep patterns, the shower had things falling apart, for that reason I couldn’t take a shower. My Main issue was with our dinner. I only took 2-3 bites of my trout, ate one Brussels sprout and that was all and they still changed us for my plate. The manager and waiter both knew I didn’t eat it. I even talked to the manager about the trout. It tasted like a bottom fish, mildew tasting. Manager didn’t even ask if I wanted something else. All in all I would not recommend this hotel for anyone, you could probably get a room nicer for a lot less.

This is a nice, quiet, well-maintained hotel with scenic views. Pros: great restaurant plus sister breakfast and coffee spot in neighbouring hotel; free passes to nice public bus that runs up and down Banff Ave: free parking in nice, clean garage; rooftop hot tub and fire tables with stunning views; morning coffee or tee choices for room; friendly staff. Cons: room layout is a bit tight; location is about 15 minute walk from downtown but we enjoyed the walk to/from dinners and used free bus where needed. Overall, this was a great spot for couples at a (relatively) good price point and would gladly stay again in future. An awesome 4 nights for us.

Had an exceptional stay at this new hotel. The rooms were lovely and great to come back to after a long day of hiking. The hot pool was an added bonus. The good folk restaurant offered amazing food at good prices. The only thing to be aware of is that the hotel is a little bit out of the main town, however it is only a short 15 min walk away and the hotel offers free bus passes to get into town easily - not really a downside as you still are in Banff but just something to be aware of

One of the best hotels we stayed in Banff. Highly recommended. The room has the vibe of Japanese minimalism, beautifully designed, very functional and clean. Hot tub was cozy and had a view. Staff service was very helpful giving us utensils and refills of oat milk and tea.
