The rooms were contract as were the beds. This hotel is located near the end of the town, about a 15 minute walk to town. They do provide you with complimentary shuttle poses to use the towns bus service to get around. There is no place to eat, so you must go elsewhere for all of your meals. We parked in the underground lot and left the car there for the duration of our stay, using the buses to get around.

This hotel is located in a privileged area. Walk in distance from the main street and downtown. The staff was very friendly and responsive. The property itself is in need of a remodeling in areas like carpet, curtains, bathroom and general appearance. We spend much of our time outside the room, so it didn't hurt our whole experience, but for the price I was expecting a little more upscale experience.

While the Rundlestone is a quant and at sometimes charming at the surface, she is an aging inn that has not been kept up with and it shows compared to other similar properties along Banff Ave. Water damage is visible throughout public spaces, there are screw holes in walls of the rooms from retired amenities and this aging resort left its amazing staff (the one highlight) struggling to find a room with a working air conditioning unit for us one night (it took checking 3 rooms before finding a new room for us). Upon check out there was an error in billing suggesting we charged a meal from the adjacent to our room, and while it was remedied at checkout, it piled on to the already rough experience. Smaller than average toilets (the public one across from the front desk was typically sized), poor lighting throughout the facility, and a poorly marked under ground parking garage added to the list of things we wished were better as our stay continued. This three night experience left me confident that next time we travel to Banff, our lodging dollars would be better spent elsewhere. All of that said, the staff was amazing and always helpful, which is the Rundlestone’s strength.
