We were so excited for breakfast and coffee every day! The chef, Crystal, kept us supplied with delicious treats at tea time. Our favorite was the olive, cheese, & sun dried tomato bread. (But the cinnamon muffins were a close second). The room was clean and quiet and the bed was so cozy. Thank you to Hearthside for providing us a beautiful and peaceful honeymoon stay!

Really nice place! We found safe parking in front and absolutely loved our room. The young gentleman that checked us in was very nice and helpful. The chef the next morning made us a delicious meal. This place was very close to downtown and we just walked the block to lots of places to show, sightsee, or eat. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Very welcoming

Food was delicious and plentiful. Baked goods and lemonade available every afternoon, plus fruit and baked goods always out for takeaway. Staff was so friendly and always available. Two floors of steep stairs could be a challenge.

The breakfast they serve is delicious! They were so kind to box up our breakfast for us because we had reservations to go out on a lobster boat tour! The bed and breakfast was in walking distance to everything in bar harbor and spotless. So glad I chose this place to stay!

The service and food were both great at this property to start on a positive note. However the property itself is not well maintained. Carpet is pretty gross and covered in stains, wood needs maintenance and towels were stained yellow. For the upwards cost of $500 we were not impressed by the condition of the Inn. We usually book hotels and resorts based on reviews and with excellent reviews we were sadly disappointed by this one.

Literally everything was phenomenal. Absolutely wonderful service, and they even accommodated my food allergies/sensitivities. From the delicious breakfasts to the lovely evening flavored lemonades and baked goodies, everything was so thoughtful, lovely, and delicious. We thank you all for your wonderful hospitality! And we appreciate how close to everything the location is :) and the beds are so comfy!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hearthside Inn! The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the customer service was excellent — the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed. Parking was a bit of a walk, but they were very helpful in assisting us and offering good options. Breakfast was amazing, and the coffee was just what we needed to start the day. Highly recommend this inn for anyone visiting the area! Thank you again… from Calif!

Though our visit to Hearthside Inn was brief, it was thoroughly enjoyable. The inn’s cozy charm and immaculate room made us feel instantly welcome. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and served with genuine warmth. Its quiet, convenient location was perfect for our short stay in Bar Harbor—we only wish we had more time to enjoy it.

The location of the the inn was excellent! Walking distance to everything in Bar Harbor. The food, breakfast and afternoon snacks were all home made and wonderful. Unfortunately the coffee was consistently weak and watery so we popped over to get espresso at nearby A Slice of Eden. The rooms were well appointed but the mattresses are a little old or just soft and spring feeling ish. Not sure which but would appreciate firmer bed quality…. which would escalate the experience at Hearthside immensely. Overall a very good experience though I would probably opt to try another inn next time based on the mattress. Very sweet staff!
