I have mixed feelings about this hotel. We had to leave earlier than expected due to my father's health. The staff was friendly. The room was manageable. The Orbitz description of the property was not accurate. The hotel does not provide a kitchen area to guests. the room to the kitchen had a sign that said, "Staff only". Staff included anyone who worked in Batesburg--except the tourists. I was told I could use the kitchen facilities, but the "staff" were very territorial, so it became a bit of a challenge. I'd rate the hotel a 7. It's a beautiful city and I recommend you stay here for a day but that's it.

Upon arrival you’ll find this “hostel” is more like a hotel. You have shared bathrooms, showers that are well maintained and clean. The shared kitchen that was advertised is a bit of a stretch. The signage to the kitchen states it’s for “staff only” which means anyone who works and stays here is eligible except the tourists. The management needs to update and clarify this as it’s a big deal to be able to keep food safely stored in the refrigerator and cook. The sleeping facilities are not bad. WiFi is good I would rate this as a 7/10. It could easily be a 10/10 with a little fine tuning
