Great stay

Wonderful stay with family. Rooms are boutique, clean and comfortable. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Restaurant is comfortable, staff are very helpful and friendly, food is good.

I've stayed here several times before, and will again. This last time I had an excellent room in the annex behind the hotel, the best yet. I am not liking the new breakfast time slots however. We have to be in and served with cereal, drinks and delicious hot meal, and be out again in 30 minutes. The thought of rushing like that still gives me indigestion. On arrival at breakfast, you are asked whether you want tea or coffee. I prefer to have a hot drink after my meal not before or during, so I asked if I could have a coffee in about 15 minutes. No-one came back. I would have reminded them, but my time slot was up, and I was out.

The staff where lovely ,the food delicious especially breakfast, the resteraunt and bar area was very nice. The problem was our accomodation location, which was in the annexe if you have mobility issues there is a short very steep path down to it so we had to use car to get up and down to the main building other than it was a perfect stay we wii be back We will ve returning for another stay

Great stay at The Old Stone Trough. Restaurant was too busy on the second night to be able to eat though. However, I believe there is a local eatery close by. Staff very lovely in the restaurant and house staff.

Luxury suite -- come off it

Definitely not a luxury room. Some antique furniture but very tired fittings, lino, bathroom, shower temp. Had the audacity to ask for a bond when other much higher quality / better fitted hotels don't.

An amazing weekend retreat a drive away from the town centre, surrounded by great scenery. I cannot explain its beauty, you just have to visit, and to top it off it’s an all you can eat buffet breakfast in the price !!!

Returning Stay.

A fantastic short break with the wife & dog.We were welcomed with open arms. Some staff even remembered us from our previous stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our time. Said it before- we will be back.

Great staff, poor cleanliness.

The room was tired looking. The bedding was old and creased with tired scatter cushions and throw. The slide out tea table had not been cleaned and the bath towels were tatty. Despise all this, the price suited the purpose. Unfortunately on returning home, both my partner and myself found that we were covered in little bites. I understand that this is a dog friendly establishment however the rooms may need to be given a good looking at and check for fleas. The restaurant were we ate breakfast was more recently decorated and we couldn't really complete about the breakfast for the price we paid. Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay..
