The motel was fine for the price. The location is great. The room could use a deep clean - the base boards, carpet, doors, shower floor pan, etc. all need a good wipe down and deep clean with powerful cleaner. The pillows could use a good washing. There was a weird stench to the room when we first got there. We bought some air freshener and tried to clean up and it mostly got better throughout the week. The room is super hot and noisy with sounds coming from the walls such as heat, water (?) and other random sounds. Overall it was okay. We’d probably stay again for the price. The place has a lot of potential and with a good cleaning, TLC, and some sprucing up the decor - it has a lot of potential.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The Inn is conveniently located in downtown Basalt, within walking distance to great restaurants. It is quiet and you can park outside your door. It's an older hotel, but they have made many improvements. I hope the next upgrade is new pillows.

Arrived late, so no interaction with staff...but the room kind of smelled like smoke and there was no breakfast service or coffee in the morning. Bed was a little hard, but worked out.

The staff was friendly & helpful, but the room was not great. The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, as was the chair at the desk. The windows in the door allowed too much light in at night so I had to cover it with a towel. Good water pressure in the shower. Will not return nor would I recommend.

Attempted “refresh” obvious but minimal. Obvious that it was a cursory remodel as inexpensively as possible. Location is great, but grossly overpriced for the quality of the room. Baseboard heater controls broken. Had to turn off the circuit breakers to shut it off when it got VERY hot in the room during the night. Bed and pillows comfortable, sheets very worn, bed cover thin. No extra blankets. Will probably not stay there again.

Challenging for check-in, staff owners not friendly. At breakfast no one even said good morning. Breakfast was just ok. Waffles were the highlight of the stay. Also they have Direct TV and it never worked, It does seem clean.

Maroon Bells

We came to see Maroon Bells but didn't want to stay in Aspen. Basalt is a very nice community with great scenery, restaurants, ice cream shop. We could walk to whatever we wanted or needed.

The room was dirty it smelled like mildew shower was black on floor Sheets had other people’s hair on them pillows were small and flat walls were dirty and needed repainted
