DIdn't feel that the staff were really interested. We were in a family room with 3 of us staying in it, it wasn't very big for 3 people and the 'air-conditioning' was very old fashioned and ineffective, all noise and no cool air coming into the room. Our daughter was unwell which I had mentioned and they didn't really care. She only really wanted to lie down as she had so little energy and maybe watch a bit of TV, but surprisingly for an international chain, with family rooms, there were only 2 English speaking channels on the TV (CNN and Bloomburg), I know that we wouldn't normally be staying in the room to watch TV when in Basel but these were our circumstances with a poorly daughter. We couldn't get the Netflix streaming to work either which was frustrating. We ended up eating at the hotel, it was OK, very expensive, but probably on a par with other restaurants in the area. We didn't enjoy our stay I think mainly because we didn't feel welcomed or valued in any way as guests.

It was a nice hotel. Clean, quiet, and in a good location for walking in the city center. The only thing unfortunate was that they didn’t have a full restaurant, only a DYI pizza place and an inside convenience store.

Lacking customer engagement

Solid hotel and a fantastic location. However, it’s a bit sterile and lacks atmosphere. Not helped by the initial impression at check in, which was my worst check in experience of any hotel I’ve stayed at. Just very bland, not welcoming or engaging and lacked any warmth or providing local information or help.

Amazing service - we arrived early for check in but they treated us royally, with discounts on museums and public transit, and access to the lounge and other amenities. They were super busy but still kind and attentive. Our room was modern, large and super clean, and the location was perfect.

Comfortable, but AC was weak.

Rooms are really comfortable. However, we chose because it had AC in the summer and the units were mediocre leading to very warm rooms. Buffet was good, but more international than traditional Swiss breakfast.
