Disappointed with lack of access to facilities. Initially this was described as a city spa hotel. It was more like a leisure centre. Pool area was busy and loud with children/families and not relaxing luxurious as described. If you do want to sue this facility, book before check in! Not clearly stated that you can do this.

A little compassion would have gone a long way.

It was disappointing to see the lack of compassion from Hotel.com and Apex Hotels & considering they are not a small chain. We had booked a Valentine’s Day weekend away & which we were very much looking forward to. We very sadly had a family bereavement in our immediate family the same week of our travel. After contacting Hotels.com to explain our circumstances & that we would have to instead attend the funeral that weekend, they advised they would contact the hotel to either request a refund or otherwise request for us to change our travel dates. I do fully appreciate that we had made a non cancellable booking and that we only contacted Hotels.com the day prior to our travel, however considering these circumstances it was saddening to see that Apex Hotels declined to help us out in this situation. We therefore lost a large amount of money we had paid for this 2 night stay. Perhaps I am just naieve to have thought people would help their customers out during such a difficult time.

Great say let down by the dinner service

Overall it was very good. Please with the room, the SPA was great and all the staff were very polite and professional. Only negative was the dinner we had. We had to wait far too long for our starter - Prawn bruschetta. Which was really very plain and lacking any sort of flavour. Than after being sat down for almost 90 minutes, our main turned up. We paid £80 for the cote de boeuf. After asking for it to be cooked medium rare, it turned up medium well done - and really dry. So bad in fact, that we had to send it back as it just wasn't acceptable. We were not the only table either with this issue.

Greeted on arrival by staff who were all very pleasant. Bed was comfortable. The only issue was the tap in the bathroom had a drip but once the door was closed you couldn’t hear it.
